It's times like this when you realise money really doesn't mean anything, we all work hard for more of it, takes something like this to put it into perspective.

Feck a few quid pay rise, its not even important right now. I just hope you all and your loved ones stay safe, we all get through this with our businesses intact and we can go back to worrying about trivial matters such as should i raise Mrs Smith £1 or £2 next year.

I do need an increase but it can wait until things settle down. My daughter has just had her temporary rolling contract terminated due to the virus. Apparently they have to cut more hours so have been asking staff to take unpaid leave.

A girl at the meeting last night was saying the staff at her gym were closing classes 5 minutes early to swab all the gear.  Seems fair enough.

I really hope you're right Daz and there's no pushback and we can all keep on working. In my heart though I think we're in for some hard times. People are scared and losing jobs. I'm expecting cancellations, we can absorb probably 200/250  but after that we're going to really feel the pinch. No way would I be drawing attention to us right now, I want people to forget we exist for the most part.

I think theres a point for most of us where it would mean dipping into savings.

For me i have about 500 custs, i could probably pay all my bills on about 200 if i was frugal but if even 1 person cancels because of this i`ll start to panic lol

It's already started for me. I had a £40 tonight say she didn't think they needed doing this time. Truth is she runs an event planning business where I guess there are no events planned in the near future. Had 3 others cancel over the weekend and Friday.

When I get to the office I fully expect a barrage of cancellations. I had two on Friday but it's escalated since then, well on Facebook anyway.

I'm trying to avoid total cancellations as much as possible. Might start to offer 6 month breaks (to those obviously in difficulty) to see if I can keep them in the long run. I'd rather lose a customer for 6 months than forever. Hopefully we still have a viable business at the end of all this.

If somebody cancels then offer it as an option, if they don't accept it just make sure to let them know that they will be more than welcome should they decide to come back.

The police will stop you plus they're now talking about a £1000 fine here for anybody that's told to self isolate and doesn't, unfortunately that's what happens when stupidity and panic take hold.
