Why don’t you just ring the doorbells on all your customers houses and when they come to the door Daz just slap them straight in the face,if you were my window cleaner I’d say trainers tracksuit jog on pal.
It’s all about loyalty to a point tuff times and all that why do you think people keep you on through recession,they don’t have to they didn’t-don’t always have money or spare money during those times but they still keep you on or push you back a few weeks,I wouldn’t even contemplate putting prices up anytime soon personally.

I'm half way through putting them up....

..only another 120 or so to go then I'll be done for another few years.

These are mainly cheaper jobs(£10-£30)with a couple of commercial jobs/larger domestics going up a fiver for the first time in 6 years.....

Most jobs are going up a quid/2 quid.......

Just been looking at the calculator earlier , most of my jobs will be going up £1,£2; some even 3. Got some smaller ones, .flats that will be going up 50p. A few years back I had this woman grump because the price had increased 50p. Not because of the increase but because she claims I didn’t  tell her in advance which I did, by writing it on the slip.   She asked how much the neighbour 2 doors along was paying(friends) , I told him the time before by writing on the slip too, but he obviously didn’t read it. When he came to the door, he just handed me my money and said thank you,then went back inside. The following visit, he cancelled  me saying he was just going to do them himself from now on, as it would give him something to do now he was retired. When she came to the door,, she said I’m paying £1 less this time,as  **** the neighbour said he just paid the usual last time and YOU RIPPED ME OFF!! This was a red flag to a bull, I said tell you what keep your bloody money  and find yourself another window cleaner, no one calls me a rip off merchant. She didn’t give me the chance to say he had obviously not read the slip either.  The pair of them had obviously been tittle tattling about the price and got their heads together about how to deal with it.

Yeah letters going out next week texts and rude emails to follow lol,like poking a bulls arse with a stick at the moment anything to do with telling people you want more money.

I think that the people who are carrying on like nothing is happening, are doing so because they don't really have a choice.

Having to continue working yes but if you believed the poo was about to hit the fan then the last thing you would be thinking about at this moment in time is a pay/price increase, remember its the guys who have replied on here that I'm referring to, they certainly don't give the impression that its because they have no choice.

another 10 job prices up today,plus coffee and biscuits at one house.....no problem at all......they look after you up north mate!

You shouldn’t need to worry about putting your prices up if you are charging enough for what you do,if you are earning well why on earth would you rock the boat can’t see the point of doing that myself.

prices need to go up periodically or else you end up working for less money than you did a few years ago,also newer jobs ive picked up over the last few years  are at a slightly higher price so im mainly adjusting the older jobs to fit in with the newer work.....it just so happens i decided to do it a few weeks ago before this virus kicked off over here......

another 2 weeks of price rises and ill be done for a few years then......

Turn the news on Daz you would have more of a point if you put them up in a years time,you must have a friend like relationship with your customers that’s all I can say lol.
Like I said if they are priced right in the first place the need to put them up now shouldn’t be required.

I had considered a price rise this April. I , however, in light of the present circumstances like NWH think it wise to hold off now for time being.
My brother in law called me this afternoon. he's a plumber and already feeling the hit from it. Works beginning to dry up for him and has had several cancellations. I earn enough, no lavish lifestyle, and save enough to ride this out for several months if need be. Right now, I'd sooner just crack on with the work I have and not upset the apple cart.I've lost maybe 5 or so long term customers since the new year for unrelated reasons but its not all doom n gloom, I've stepped in to the boots of a recently retired cleaner and picked up 20+ new regulars in last couple of weeks alone  from a good lead. Many hospitality , tourist, leisure and service industries etc. are going to suffer badly in the next couple of months. We should count ourselves lucky.
