I’ve a cruise booked for the end of May, supposed to be flying into Rome and heading to the Italian islands then around to some Greek islands. Italy not really looking the ideal destination with a large part of the country now in isolation.

I think you've lost your mind daz.

It's pretty much all of the North which has been quarantined. No travel in or out and flights already being cancelled to Italy.

It won't be long before it spreads across the entire country. Weeks rather than months.

This thing is going to get much worse before it gets better. I would bet most people won't be going on holiday this summer.

Unless something miraculous happens I won't be flying into Venice as planned in July.

Yeah, I'd hold fire on travel plans if not already booked. I was going to book an end of season snowboard trip early next month. I'm probably not bothering now. It's the hysteria and chances of lock down, travel disruption and cancellations that's concerning me more than getting ill. News is changing daily. Can't be doing with all the uncertainty and cost to me if it  goes wrong.

lol you idiot  ;D blackpool!     that is the most god forsaken place ive ever been.  Oddly ive probably been there about a dozen times. Its always good to take a look around that place to remind yourself how fortunate you are.

As for Venice, been 3 times...it is over crowded but it still has a certain magic...never bought anything there to be honest apart from i remember paying 2 euros to use the toilet. Not that i was headed to Venice this year, just always fly to there then rent a car and drive.

Buy a sand pit, stick your head in it. You’ll see him in there somewhere.

Tsiodras said on Thursday that Greece expected a significant rise in new cases in the coming weeks.
The 66-year old patient was being treated in a hospital near the city of Patras. Some of the new cases were detected on the popular Ionian island of Zakynthos, also known as Zante.
