Hi Guys, looking on recent posts couldnt find anything on this.
Does anyone use checkatrade for advertising and what success have they had if any. It looks good but as its expensive, not sure of worth it. Maybe its the only advertising i need to do? so then not so expensive!
Anyway, any info would be useful before i give them a call.
Thanks in advance
Steve

I was with checkatrade for 2 years. I didn't get a single Window Cleaning enquiry, but got maybe 1-2 gutter and pressure washing jobs off it per month.
Not worth it at all at face value but it comes with trading standards approval here, so now pay £35 per month for affiliate membership which means I can use their logo and the trading standards one which is worth it for the credability it provides in my opinion

I dont think its all that,I've had work done by people who are check a trade registered and the work was very poor.
They harras me now and then to join but I'm far too busy to take on anymore customers let alone give them money for something that means nothing, especially their rates.
I see vans with their logo on but doesn't mean they are professional as Ive discovered by having crap work done from people that are registered with them.
Don't get me wrong, might work for some and the majority of people with them do a good job I'd imagine but doesn't mean anything to me.

I've been with Checkatrade since 2012 and have built up a good client base of return work. The business has been sold on since i joined and the web page they allot you is a lot different now to when i first became a member.
If you want Checkatrade to work you have to commit to getting the feedback from custards because the amount of feedback CAT get on your work is very important as to your ranking in the on-line searches. So for example - if a custard types into Google "Window cleaners in Ambridge" the CAT results are usually at the top of the page and once the custard clicks on that link it depends on how many feedback you have as to where you rank in that list. This example is reflected on the custard enquiries on the CAT website.
Checkatrade staff are very helpful and do what they can to help. I hate to say it but "BREXIT" did reflect on the amount of enquiries i received from CAT but it seems to be improving now.

Thanks for the replies fellas, i can see both sides, It will depend on how you use it i suppose.
Im still not sure either way, but may give it a go at some point. Its mainly for other jobs like pressure washing, gutter clearing/cleaning rather than window cleaning i would think.
Thanks again
