That’s when you come unstuck I’ve got 3 next to each other I can do them cheaper,I never do that that’s when they can become not worth doing.
It starts off well then 2 move and then you are going to there to clean 1 instead of 3 at a discounted price,if it’s a 50 quid job that’s what it is and it would be the same for next door I want to earn a living I’m not going out in the cold to do favours or to get 3 in a row because I can then discount them that’s a pointless exercise.

True, i personally dont understand that line of thinking. Ie, its on the same street, its the neighbour or if i have a run of houses etc etc.  For me its individual pricing and each job is priced according to that house, irrelevant if its in the same area. The only thing I consider is that it would be an even higher charge if im going out my way to clean said house, but i would sooner have a run of say £30 houses rather than discounting them three to say £25 just because they are next to each other and loose out on £15 for insyance.
(For argument sake, these prices have just been plucked from the air lol)
Read back what you have said, just like NWH you're contradicting yourself,  you're going to charge the same for a property that's in an area where you already clean so the fact that you would charge more for a similar house that's out of your way shows that these houses are discounted because you have more than one.

I think most of us would agree that if we  priced our properties as stand alone we would never win any work, I could do 10 properties that are close together a lot quicker easier and cheaper than 10 properties that have a 5 mile drive between each one so off course I'm going to price them cheaper to allow for this.

It depends on your view point doesnt it.  Your a glass half empty type of guy im guessing lol.
I see it as these houses are normal priced and the stand along house is an increased price.
Whereas from your viewpoint, the many are discounted compared to the one stand alone house.
Thats why most of us will never agree as we all have different view points on so many aspects

I doubt it not if someone’s 5 mile to each properties drive was making them 75-80 quid a pop, correct me if I’m wrong.
And as for the brush business I’m not down as buying brushes as frequently as you would think because I have about 15 of there brushes in my van and about 10 of them were testers.

Lot of people selling thereselves like a cheap tart at 30 quid to clean all them windows, clean it for 20-30 quid under what you should be for 10 years let’s say every month.
Let’s say a loss of 2400 over 10 years on 1 job,I’d say that’s good business sense to just rock up and say yeah alright love call it 30 knicker.

After slating his brushes it’s highly unlikely you’ll be getting anymore testers.......If ( as you claim ) you did get 10 testers off Alex don’t you think it’s a bit below the belt to then rip his brushes to bits on an open forum? That’s gratitude for you.

Again stay off Faceache, learn the difference in a point of view and a fact, your so called normal houses are priced cheaper/discounted for a reason, what is that reason ?

So, sean your telling me that if you get to do a job which is away from your normal priced work (which is still good priced work) that this job wouldnt be priced higher?  Or are you claiming that the new job would be the normal price because you are simply not applying a so called discount because its not part of your normal work?

2nd, i would argue that i have posted on my website and stated on here that I have a min charge of £10.  So if i have 100 houses in that area at £10 a job for instance and then I have a new job further away. I choose to charge £15 for example because its further away etc.    Which is the correct price // which is the discounted price and / or inflated price?

I’ve looked on a few big hitters websites and the prices are very cheap imo,no wonder leaflets work,I’m tempted to get one of em to clean my house lol.
As for the brushes I’ll always give an honest opinion open forum or not,at the end of the day as long as a brush is light when you use hot water you’ve just got to get it on the glass to clean it the water does it’s job, what I don’t like is how a brush has next to no longevity to it that’s all.
I clean all types of windows new houses old houses I’m probably the best tester he’s had lol,1 row of bristles will never last long enough with cold water let alone hot.

No bickering going on here just stating facts about pricing and how some window cleaners are still going around doing 50-60 pound jobs for half the price because they are terrified they might all of a sudden lose all there work.

What the point of even asking what someone else would charge

In my area 25 - 30 would be about the best I could hope to get for that.

Looks about 30 mins work.

Makes no odds to me that someone down south can get double that.

Then why doesn’t the person say I live in X what’s achievable on price with this property, down south you wouldn’t even consider £30 to clean it,when you say you would get £60 all day long people then  think you are either provoking argument or bragging.
At the end of the day you get what you are happy with,my point was if you were to go round quoting that down south you would have lots of work but would struggle to pay your mortgage unless you thought you’d be able to clean 15-20 of em a day.

Good post here in south London this is a 20 25 pound job
I kid you not
Every day I see. A new van or car with ladders on
There must be hundreds  cleaners or so round here all driving prices down  the days of doing a whole street have long gone now it's like the cafe or barbers same amount of coustomers but more shops
Low prices and high costs it's not the job it once was
