Buy a laser printer. Little bit more expensive initially, but will outlast any inkjet.

I would go with a colour laser too. The OEM toner cartridges nowadays are very good and not that expensive when it comes to replacing the original ones.

Cheap printers never seem to last. They look great, all singing all dancing, but when it comes to printing and talking to the computer Ive observed continental plates shifting faster than this.

I suppose it's down to how much and what kind of printing you wish to do. The price of replacement ink is the main issue for me, I don't print photos just documents/work related stuff etc. I just bought a new Epson (always used them, no particular reason) BUT...… I chose the older model as compatible inks are more freely available and dirt cheap- literally next to nothing! The newer model was actually cheaper but one set of inks was £40- that's one black and three colours. I just bought four blacks and four of each colour for £12 for my model (would have cost £160 for newer model) and will probably last me a year.
The one I bought was-

I only print stuff in black and white; worksheet everyday etc.

If I want to print anything in colour (holiday snaps etc) I go to Boots, print them out there. Their printers are expensive and good.

I have a laser printer; very quick and better quality, compared to an inkjet and the cartridges (nowadays) are really cheap online.

I have an old (and I mean old) Brother 2135w. Never let me down.  Quick and quality is perfect.

I’ve got an  HP printer. Mainly for printing off invoices and copying forms and schedules.
What I like about it is you can sign up and pay for an ink prescription, it senses when you start to run out of ink and sends you replacement cartridges in the post. So you don’t run out.
There are different rates  based on per pages printed.  Just have to work out the tariff that suits your usage best.

I got an Epson SX435W from Tesco for about £30. Its wireless. Had no issues with it, i'd recommened similar to friends and family and they've got them with no issues. Model number varies but you'll see similar in Argos/Currys etc similar price. My cartridges i get compatibles off Ebay around a tenner for five sets !!! Its wireless and it prints staight from my Android fone too (you need to install Epson I print from the playstore) . I just use it to print some invoices, slips and the odd form.
