Xmas cleans
« on: December 24, 2019, 04:39:50 pm »
So how many have had enquiries yesterday or today for a last minute xmas clean?

Must admit, this is my first year in having quite a lot.  The vast majority are looking for a one off but ive had two which after saying I am closed now for xmas and wont be able to quote till Jan, are happy to wait and be put on the books.

Any that ask in December are booked to start in January when I'm next in their area if they are genuine they will wait no problem. I don't do any cleans in December that aren't arranged it's hard enough to get round it all as it is  ;D

Had 5 enquiries in December, all apparently wanting regular cleans.

After telling them I will be able to do the first clean in early January all but 1 said they’ll try and find someone who can fit them in before Xmas. 😂

I've been mad busy fitting them all in!
I knocked someone's wing mirror off last week dashing to a job in Doncaster. I don't think he noticed. He was wearing dark glasses.

I said to myself last year that I wasn’t going to rush around for Xmas anymore I did the important ones early December and then towards the end of the month continued my work as usual if they got done they got done,in the past I’ve rushed round till Xmas eve like a maniac not anymore.
I haven’t worked Xmas eves for the last 5 years and have only worked in between the break if it’s been a very good payer like 2 days money in 1,I found if I worked to far up to Xmas I didn’t feel I was I getting a break myself.

Got a call today at 5 in the morning
Christmas Day
Wtf
Asked how much I charged for a two bed flat
She dint like my answer
Free to those who can afford it and very expensive to those who can't

She didn't seem happy with my reply and said can you call at 12 today
I said yes text me the address
blocked the number and went back to bed

That's a bit far fetched mate  :D

She called nearly every day last week
Last time I did a job for her she followed me round the house and then said she wanted the frames polished after I had cleaned the windows then
The the door  then the insides of the door then the spiders webs off the gutters and after all the messing said she'd pay next time
Forward a year ..... but alway was never there when I went round to collect
Gotta hate security gates
The calls started again last week
But still owed me for work at the previous house
So I wasn't going to do  ever again
she calls at odd hours and has no manners
And yes she has called at 5 o'clock in the morning before
To catch me before I go out on a normal day
I think she asked once when I started and stupidly told her 5 o'clock
Which is normal for most of us
What's not normal is getting work call at that time

You do know there is a ‘block’ function on most modern phones don’t you?

I know I am a bit soft at times, but the very least I would have done is to remind them that they still owe for the last clean, and I won't do another clean until the late payment has been made plus payment in advance for future cleans. If I don't want to work for them I simply say that it is with regret that I am unable to call to them.
