Got chatting to a fellow window cleaner yesterday and I asked him about his water purification method. “Oh I just throw some tablets into the tank and it makes it pure” came the reply. “What does your TDS meter show? “ said I incredulously.“I’ve heard of those things but I don’t get many complaints so I don’t bother”I was pretty much speechless at this point.I don’t intend to try this method of purification anytime soon even though it would be a lot cheaper than the bags of resin I use.But I have 2 questions; Has anyone tried the tablet method and what are the results like? And if the results are less than impressive, as I suspect, then are (most) customers a lot less fussy than we imagine them to be?
I met another windy about 2 months ago and got talking.....he said he changes his resin about every 6 months....he'd not got a metre his TDS test was to clean his own windows every weekend and if they were alright all was good.Considering my TDS is around 80 and I change one of the vessels at around 005 which is about once a month he must be way up the scale.....he's from Wakefield so not sure what the TDS is.....I once filled up in Ossett at a friends and that was over 200 which burned my resin out which was ready for changing anyway....cleaned the rest of the day with it at 024.
