electric hose reels for STAFF?
« on: December 06, 2019, 09:05:35 pm »
Hi,

does anybody equip their staff vans with an electric hose reels? or is it just a great add on for you if you are doing the cleaning yourself?

i'm wondering if there is an productivity improvement that makes it worthwhile for staff having it i suppose

Dont have staff but I use one myself.  Its great to use and as your saving energy/calories from not reeling in, it could be argued that staff wouldnt feel as fatigued perhaps and therefore help with morale which can help with productivity.

We have a mix of Waterworks and Pure freedoms electric reels. Sometimes I wish I never bothered. Too many call outs to the vans for tangled hoses, chains coming off and blown fuses.

Had 1 for a few years had a fuse blow once,if you’ve got very compact work and use little hose you won’t see the real benefit,if you are reeling out over half the reel most jobs it’ll save you loads of energy over the course of the week.

A call-out for a blown fuse or tangled hose?

What do you employ, fannys?

Don't give them to staff the hose can come off and dryers rail the chain which means you having to come and fix the problem

this cant happen with the pure freedom electric reels as they have a chain cover AND a bar across the front of the reel to stop the hose coming off the sides.....

personally if i employed id just buy manual reels and CLX poles for staff
price higher/work harder!

Hardest part of our job is reeling in every day I’ve always said that, any lower back niggles and shoulder injuries are down to manual reeling in. Get an electric reel and see if they disappear in a few weeks,I bet they do.

I had DIY power reel funnily enough  :D
Took it out as I only clean maybe 10 a day , normally from just a couple of wind ins , I just didn’t want to wear my battery black and decker drill out

That could well be the next product for me and my stainless dude  ;D
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

I got one a month ago, brilliant. Only problem is I've  now got tennis elbow, think it's due to elbow not  moving as much😱
