Do you live local to Grippa? if not can't you find a local authorised Webasto engineer?

Nearest place to me that service them is Edenbridge but Grippa will hopefully join me in with another when they are in my area

had mine 2 years in december...so no i wont be getting it serviced.....pure freedom told me not to bother as they very rarely go wrong....mine still works perfectly,same batteries too......

why?if its still working fine?splash and dash has had his for 5 years with no service...it still works perfectly fine day in/day out...grippa will charge you around £450!

loads of window cleaners have had these heaters for years with no service,their built to last a long time

No doesn’t need servicing mine is now 5 years old and run for  over 10,000 hours never been serviced and runs sweet as a nut just the same as the first day I had it , my local dealer said if it’s working fine there is nothing to service , so until I get problems or clouds of smoke I will carry on using it .

i think if your getting a lot of smoke out of the exhaust on start up and shut down(when its not a cold day)then i think its time for a new burner,mines fine for now.....

You guys haven't changed your coolant or in line fuel filters for 2-5 years?

My service takes 30 minutes and costs £15 .
For that I get a full clean of burner  and heat exchanger , new glow plug and screen and fuel filter !

The only reason I was getting it serviced was because I don’t know how to service this burner the other 5kw I knew like the back of my hand,my other heater worked like a dream for years also apart from fuel pump and me changing the burner by choice. If you get plooms of white smoke on start up it’s either the burner or as said they have fuel filters.

That is the thing with the 5kw  it’s easy to work on you can replace everything on them in little time,I could change a burner on the 5kw in well under an hour all back together and working again.

I did change the coolant a couple of years ago , but no fuel filter change it’s running perfectly wabasto said it doesn't need a service ,they could easily have charged me for one but saw it working plugged it into the lap top and said it’s running fine nothing needs doing  , they fit hundreds of there’s heaters in boats including much larger units than the 9kw , who am I to argue with the main dealer if they say it’s fine I will accept what they say .

Just had my Webasto Thermo Top C serviced.
Three hours work £200! Actually took a lot less but he had his lunch break in the middle of it. De- coke and a new gasket.
If it fails to ignite after three attempts like mine did, it goes into lock down mode. (I spent ages trying to find fuses etc until I found out on Google).

Yeah my other one went into lock down mode there is a way round it though,I can’t remember but Oliver did talk me through it with my 5kw heater.

You just completely cut the power to it for a few mins and it will reset.

Mine has just been finished now. Had the coolant changed, a new in line fuel filter and the webasto service pack. Inluding the labour it was a little over £600.00. I'm tending to get mine serviced every other winter seems expensive to most but if it keeps us working during the coldest days of winter when cold water won't run then it's money well spent in my eyes anyway.
