Ro4040 membrane change problem
«

After 10 years I've just changed my membrane I've took out a hf4 and have replaced it with another hf4.
It's not getting below 24ppm out of the ro that's not to different from the 10 year old one, also it's kicking out so much water I'm only on my tap no pump but it's doing just over 2 litres of pure a minute and just over 4 litres of waste my old one was a trickle compared to this.
Has anyone had this problem.
Thanks Darren

Hf4 ideally requires a booster pump.
What brand of membrane are you using?

It's the same as the last one axeon.
I've never used booster pump and the last one was ok.
It's to much water coming out would booster pump not produce even more.
Something is not right 2 litres of pure and 4 of waste just from the tap and 24 ppm out of brand new ro.
The drain where my waste goes can't keep up.

Are you sure the rubber o rings are seating properly and not letting water by pass the membrane??

The big o rings are new and the small o rings that are in the end caps was greased up before putting back together again.
I've got some new small o rings will have to change them as well they look a little tricky to get out.
Thanks for your advice

My question is about the waste gate.
Have you adjusted it to get a better pure to waste ratio.

They take a fair bit of force to get them to seat back in properly

the amount of waste and pure is decided by you when you adjust it, just dont turn it all the way off
it does sound like the o ring was upside down, it should be at the feed end there is two possible places you want it at the water feed end not the output end, there should be just 1 gromit
