How much to charge to scrape moss off the roof and treat it with hypo or Algoclear?

First time so not sure what to charge.

Morning. You will get lots of different answers but I would be asking for £650.00
Roofs seem to grow when you start to clean them. Don't under price them.

Hey Tom, thanks for the advice! Funny enough I was thinking along the same lines when you said they seem to grow. I think its more work than what you estimate.

Where about in the country are you?

Hey Darren, thanks for your input. I can imagine the cherry picker bumps the price up quite a bit and the cost of another man.....

What would you charge IF you were scraping from a ladder then treating with hypo or Algoclear? I know you dont work that way, its just a hypothetical...

I wouldn't
I tried scraping many a year ago - it was f***ing horrible absolutely wouldn't entertain it under ANY circumstances

Also clear etc...   only good for algae - can do lichen but not that well - with what we charge customers expect a nice clean roof all over on the day.

a cherry picker for the above job is 120 + VAT.  if we do (like we are over the next 2 weeks) several large detached properties then we need a larger CP which costs more but then these roofs are nearer 2K than the 1200

Are you talking working from roofing ladders or off a ladder to the eaves and poling it?

Hi Darran,
Im back onto the roofs question on hear as suggested!
Im also in Norfolk, but out towards Hunstanton area, so a good distance away from yourselves.
Cherry picker does add to the price quite a bit, im focusing initially on bungalows, so can probably get away with using a small tower (HSS Hire - decent price for the week). Dont fancy standing on a ladder all day for sure!
I don't have a CP licence, i'm assuming not cheap to get one, is it just a days course? somewhere fairly local?
One other thing, could you just pump the chemical (hypo/biocide) through a pressure washer (petrol engine) or could that damage the pump? there is a small tube that comes with the pressure washer (for chemicals), so i assume that would be fine to mix it that way? Alternatively, it would be a back pack or similar i assume.
Cheers

I love Hunstanton - do loads of work there  ;D

OK - I rarely use high access for bungalows - does depend on the roof type/age - normally Norfolk bungalows have quite a shallow pitch so we use rope access and fall arrest on these

Spider lifts is the best type of Cherry picker - but you can get a days hire from £80 (plus travel)  - customer pays and if its a house then H&S rules

IPAF - is a days course and you can get 2 categories done for I think £230 - there is a super place in Norwich (pordingland)

It is important to properly assess the size and condition of a roof before setting a price. Don't underestimate the time, effort and cost it takes to complete the job.

how about an example ?
