Don't expect fast delivery from Grippatank, they have to be one of the slowest
and if you need something in a hurry go else where.

We ONLY buy the gutter heads from them at the moment until we find another supplier, to many issues with them sending the wrong stuff and then them not taking it back etc.

Could it be that they are too busy with hot system fitting that all other trade is seen as not so important ?
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

Good  Morning,

Firstly, we would like to thank you all for your patience in awaiting our response. This is for two reasons - (a) we are extremely busy as we  have a full order book and (b) the relevant legal advise has had to be sought before we respond.

In response to “Wiseman Windows” first post on the forum and on this post - This information posted is not correct and is out of date. We have had some issues with a few suppliers including failure to supply goods to the correct quality (or at all), but only one remains outstanding and we believe that this will soon be settled in court in our favour.  It is sad that a competitor would choose to post such information without the full picture, in order to discredit our brand which we have worked very hard as a family to develop over the last 10 years.

The issue with long lead times is not in anyway related to the suggestion that GrippaTank is “going down” or as suggested that “we owe suppliers a lot of money”. Whilst 2019 has indeed been an interesting year for trading, as the Brexit political situation has caused an element of uncertainly, we are blessed with having a very full system order book, along with having a very active parts and consumables dispatch fulfilment team.

This thread however has certainly given us some really useful feedback and shown we have to take drastic measures to improve the way we fulfil our customers parts and consumable orders. As a company, our growth and reputation has been built off the back of the GrippaMAX Crash Tested systems we build and supply, and this is what we specialise in. As the business has grown, our web/telephone smaller sales orders has grown steadily along side the system building side of the business. However in the last 18 months, our parts dispatch side of the business has grown to a size that has meant we have struggled in some cases to fulfil dispatch orders on time. Most of our products are “not off the shelve” items, but involve some form of workshop time to configure to the customers requirement before they can be shipped.

In September 2019, we appointed a new head of strategy, who is tasked with streamlining our dispatch side of the business, so that this is run efficiently allowing us to focus on what our passion and strength is - the crash tested system installations along with premium bespoke vehicle builds.

As a result of this we are working very hard to develop a new management system, implement training within the team to implement clearer communication amongst ourselves, and ensure better communication to the customer.

With 6500+ customers on our books, we have a large number of loyal and happy clients. However, we would like to apologise for any customers who have experienced issues with order delays, and would actively encourage you to contact me directly to discuss your feedback. We would also like to thank our loyal customers for their continued trade and support, and also taking the time to place their positive feedback as well.

If anyone wishes to contact me to discuss directly the comments above or any additional feedback you have - I would be very happy to do so.

To reply specifically on some tech/support based questions:

@LEE GLS - Thank you for your time this week and discussing the carbon filter stock issue we currently have. As discussed the Ez-Pure Carbon Filter is large seller for us, and thus we working desperately hard to resolve the new product design issue we had with the batch manufactured. With all our systems ever sold using this filter, it’s within our interest to get this resolved with the next few weeks. In the meantime, as agreed with you Lee - for any customers who have outstanding orders for Ez-Pure Carbon filters with us, they can either opt to wait and then will receive a second filter FOC as thanks for their patience OR we will collect the existing filter and refill it with new media, and then send on the new filter once finally in stock.

@Chris Turner - As per the above - this is a large stock item for us. Once this final design issue is resolved it means we will have greater control over the stock of this item as it’s not imported and made in the UK.

@Smudger/Darran - I believe the part you were looking for, we called you after the order was placed on our website to advise you of the lead time of this part or to offer you a refund? We do now have these items currently in stock

@Deeege - please can you email me directly with your order details so I can look into this order delay please? We would of course love to assist you with your system requirement - but would want you to feel totally happy first - please contact me to discuss if you would like to.

@Bungle - As agreed we supplied you free of charge the new friction brake for your previously purchased GrippaReel. You did indeed have a long time waiting for this friction brake, which was then supplied incorrectly for your reel. The youtube video was made upon your request, however the friction brake needs to be fitted as per the instructions on the plumbing side - not the handle side - please see here: https://youtu.be/-V0fewCFni0?t=18. We are sorry you had the issue with this FOC order and the previous order - we wish you all the very best with your business in the future.

@David Mark - the GrippaReels have a 4 point bearing system on them, so they should not be stiff at all to wind in - but rather they should feel very very smooth and easy to wind in (easier than a Claber) - please contact me directly and I will help you resolve this.

@NWH - Thank you very much - its always a pleasure to do business with you.

@ASCJIM - I am sorry to hear that. I think we may have already discussed this before - but if you would be so kind as to email me - I would love to discuss this with you.

@P&F - ALL trade is important to us. We are indeed very busy with the hot HydroHeat systems we sell, but are working hard to ensure we have the staff in place to ensure smaller orders are given as much priority too.

Blimey.   This thread has turned into an attack on a great business.   Come on guys!

I have had nothing but great service from Grippa over the years and will continue to use them for as long as I can.    Issues do happen, but they always take care of them when you communicate direct.

However, it's always good to take a step back for a reality check when a business grows so fast.   You can easily get blinded and forget what really matters

I would like to say Oliver has been extremely helpful with the situation with my EZ pure carbon filter. He has called my a couple of times to find a solution to a problem that is actually out of his control, thanks for your help Oliver.

Thx for the reply Oliver,

Yes, you did indeed let me know the item was not available the following day, to be fair mine WAS a stock item that really should have been on the shelf - this was backed up by ringing another supplier who had it on my doorstep in 24hrs

If I had waited until now one of my gutter vacs would have been out of commission for over a week

@ASCJIM - I am sorry to hear that. I think we may have already discussed this before - but if you would be so kind as to email me - I would love to discuss this with you.

I've emailed you many times and had phone calls with you over the years, nothing has changed (that's not an invitation to call me again).

I brought a pressure washer from you and needed some new wheels. You sent the wrong size and wouldn't let me send them back as it was over 10 days. Gardiner  would of let that slide because repeat business is where the money is.

This is why I only buy what I need, otherwise I wouldn't buy anything at all.

I didn't ask for a friction brake. You saw a post on here and contacted me to say you would send me a 'retro' brake to sort out the issue of the reel overspinning when reeling out. I'm sure I'm not the only person to find this very frustrating when trying to work efficiently. The brake you sent had no instructions with it, in the plastic bag was a triangle nut, 2 nuts, a piece of metal threaded bar and a hexagonal nut. I contacted you to ask how this was supposed to fit the reel. I didn't request that you made a video. The video is misleading. I don't have the nutsert on the plumbing side, so as the video says I should fit the brake on the other side of the reel. I fitted the brake and the handle catches the triangle nut on the brake when you turn the handle. Yes, you eventually sent the correct brake (I have 2 wrong brakes in the garage). These brakes should be sent out with any reel that requires them. Do you test your products before selling them to the public? I'm sure if you did test the products then I'm sure you would identify that the reels spin too quickly when being pulled out. I'm also sure the brakes you sent out cost a couple of pounds max. How much did I pay for my reel? £300!
We look at them, they look through them.

The Jester of Wibbly, P1W1, Lee GLS Thank you very much for your kind feedback - We are a family run business who genuinely are passionate about our products, so it really does mean alot when customers appreciate that too.

Smudger - I am really pleased you were able to get hold of the part promptly. Stock items we do our best to keep in stock, but sometimes we sell out quicker than we can restock, hence why you had the call to ask if you wanted to wait or have the part refunded. Thank you for the opportunity - feel free to contact me directly in future (oliver@grippatank.co.uk) if you need something checking for stock before you order. I hope business is good Darran  :)

Ascjim - Thank you for the reply. I appreciate why you may feel nothing has changed - however - we are putting our money where our mouth is with the changes noted above, so really it's now up to us to prove to customers who have had issues that things have changed  :)

I know you have ordered lots of items over the years including recently, and for that we are very grateful. This particular pressure washer spares order i raised for you back in June, for a machine that is 3 years old, and we shipped the item promptly. However unfortunately the wheels supplied were for the latest model pressure washer, but as this was only reported to us 61 days later after delivery, we were unable to exchange the units with our supplier.  We wish you all the very best with your business and thank you for your previous custom.

Bungle We do indeed test our products, and very extensively. However, as with any new product, once out in the field, being used in various setups, sometimes bugs and product improvements will become apparent. Overspin is very very annoying and frustrating hence why i personally contacted you to offer the friction brake once it was available.

All GrippaReels are sent out with the final design friction brakes as standard now, so we have acted upon your feedback and we thank you for that :)

I will take a look at the video and see how we can make it even clearer for installation on existing reels.

I’ve been waiting 16 working days for an order that I was assured would take 7 days.

It’s always me chasing them for updates too, never them being proactive and updating me.

I was considering ordering a full delivery system from them but this isn’t filling me with confidence tbh.

This order that I waited over 11 weeks in total for was finally delivered last Wednesday and only 1 of the 2 items was correct, and even then no fitting were supplied to fit them to my van.

Im still waiting, 5 days on, for my refund and also for the fittings for the correct unit.

Needless to say I won’t be ordering anything else from Grippatank in a hurry.

Just noticed this thread,

But I’ve experienced the best customer service experience ever with grippatank.

If anything I think a post made by another company to try and slander grippatank  just shows how jealous other companies are of their success.

Oliver is always contactable, which is far different to many MD’s.

I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again from them as I’ve been thoroughly impressed.
