First time ever I'm gutted about losing at customer, it's my favourite house in the area (style wise). It's recently been bought for around £1m and only cleaned it twice. The wife emailed to cancel with "immediate effect" so I replied with was there something wrong with the windows which she replied no they were fine ???
Anyway picked one up 2 hours later 2 doors down :)

We all lose the odd job now and again regardless of how well you clean them it’s part and parcel of the job,for whatever reason it does grate on you  a bit especially if there’s not really a reason given at the time.

Trouble with big posh houses is  a lot of them don't advertise through estate agents as you normally find an advert in the  country life glossy region brochures.  You might be lucky and get the new owners when they move in, worth a call to introduce yourself to them.

The majority of the time with the bigger houses you’ll still keep them,a lot of the time they leave a list of people that do work on the house.  If they have only moved a short distance that’s when you can lose jobs like that as they’ll bring there other WC with them but if they have come from distance they’ll keep you on.

One round the corner went for 1.2m last year, had to turn them down this week as I knew the private gates were going to p me off. I wondered if it had anything to do with the cancellation today, who knows.

we should never take any of our jobs for granted....no jobs last forever.....sometimes it could be the price or they dont like the look of you with a new owner/tenant.....who knows? ;D

did you not ask them for the gate code?
price higher/work harder!

Didn't bother as I'd been fcjed about last year at the same house! All be it different owners.
Stupid thing is the new one has a gate but they'll leave it open for me. Two sides to my face :-[
