I use rectus fittings without the balls because they kept getting caught on corners. As I never disconnect the pole hose from main hose , iv simple wrapped some gorilla tape around the rectus fittings. Job done ✅

interesting so you are saying just tape up all around the hose connector and that should be enough to take some of the edge off when you drop it?
Cheers

I use rectus 21,with a tap, that fits into a holster on my belt allowing me switch water on and off,I've had the same fitting for months as I never disconnect it,the only downside is pole  hose twists,to stop this I disconnect pole hose, straighten  it out then refit
