its 2000 watts mate , perfectly fine on a normal socket.

There's a stainless steel version at £122 but neither state the depth it can go to, so could be a complete waste if it's only going halfway down the tank.

Going by the pictures and the package dimensions in description I'd guess it to be about a meter, maybe a little more.

If it's designed for frost protection, it must be designed for long term submerged use

Stainless steel v titanium is one better for pure water than the other. My thoughts are the stainless steel would be sufficient enough and it's cheaper.

Although I'll be holding off to see the P@F heaters price.

drop in immersion heaters work really really well at 2k however the ones I have used don't have a good enough cable and start to melt the plug, if this wont do that however, for me it will work perfectly, just enough to stop the hose freezing on the ground

It certainly isn’t going to be as cheap as my first build , that’s for sure , don’t forget that the first one was a breakfast bar leg , home welding and a self imported diesel heater .
New one is full stainless within aluminium frame , pro welded and the heaters will come from a UK supplier with a certain amount of backup , not an Ebay dispute should a part fail !
