The customer will still have to buy a means of delivering water to the window and a brush to clean it.
By the time they add a Gardiner backpack and CLX22 pole,  I doubt the customer will find the costs justify doing it themselves.

We have our jobs because people have better things to do with their time than clean their own windows.
Some simply dont ever wish to clean their own windows and so we provide that service.
Just because pure water is readily available wont change that.

Our customers can't be arsed. They employ us to wash their windows someone else to clean their house and car, cut the grass walk the dog etc etc I don't think we have any worries about any of them picking up a pole and doing their own

Looking at the price of pure water surely any full time wfp window cleaner wouldn’t use them full time due to costs, I built a top axeon hf5 4040 ro set up for less than £500 and could have done it even cheaper if I had cut back on things like John guest fittings, cheaper Chinese membrane etc.
Suppose they could be good for those unable to fill at home or working away from home though but I’m surprised it’s taken off, didn’t think there was that much of a market for it myself other than window cleaners and car detailers?

It’s handy for when working away and needing to fill up in a different town/city. That’s quite a niche market though.

Anyone with half a brain and not living in a small flat will have their own setup for a fraction of the price of using spotless.

As Spotless Water is rolled out throughout the country I can see more trad window cleaners changing over to WFP, as producing the water is one of the biggest hurdles to overcome when making the change.

4.2 pence per litre is very expensive.

I currently produce my own water (using a standard HF5 4040 RO) at about 0.8pence per litre. (Includes metered water, sewage charge, prefilters, resin and replacement RO every 5 years)

I use about 700 litres per day, so my own water costs me about £28 per week.

Usung Spotless would cost an 700 x 5 x 0.042 = £147.

That’s an extra £119 per week, or over £500 per month more.

I just have no clue why anyone would do it!

And that ignores the more important issue of being dependent on someone else for your water, which I will NEVER be.

Why would you need a clx pole ? you can get an 18ft decorators pole in B+Q for around £18 which shows if this company was considering this as its long term goal  they could certainly produce a domestic cleaning kit a lot cheaper than we need to pay.

I would say not being able to do the top windows stops a lot of people from doing their own, remember WFP is also a lot easier to do and get right than faffing about with squeegees and microfiber cloths and still ending up with smeared windows.

I've got a bucket and sponge in the shed but im still too lazy to wash my own van.
So I take it elsewhere for some chaps to wash it for me and happily pay them to do it.

There's supposed to be a Spotless water machine coming to my local area soon.
Let's not forget that car valeters and some aquarium fish keepers will probably use them also.
However I still reckon there's a limited demand for this type of thing.
I priced up the cost of producing my own pure water against buying from Spotless including pre filters and a new 4040 membrane every 12 months and my cost was around 1/3rd of what it would cost to buy from them.
Although I do understand that some people will find buying from Spotless more convenient and less hassle than producing their own.

I'd guestimate that it would be less than 1% of my customer base.
Im confident that it will not make an impact on my business.

Thing is from the sales figures the Karcher does show that many people are looking for an alternitive to paying a shiner , the problem is it didn't solve any of the things that stops people from doing their own.

Some of my customers can't even manage to unlock their own side gates!

I think Spotless Water is far beyond their capabilities!

I see they're starting to target aquarium hobbyists now as well! Hopefully that won't make some Qs as they may come for 25l haha and have the big boys waiting.

Yes certainly they are more expensive then making it yourself however they are very reliable and they are offer the service to whom needs it.

In my opinion I believe they're going to be much more successful in the South East this is because ground floor properties ie a house with a garage where you can have your own setup up in the suburbs of London generally at the moment costs about half a million sterling...

If you're able to make your own of course it makes sense to just make your own although you never know sometimes you might need their help
I'm with the others I very much doubt a customer will go to those lengths. And if they do far and few between
I recently paid for van to be pressure washed and cleaned I could have done this myself on the weekend just an example..
I would rather pay someone to do it properly with better equipment faster then have all the hassle myself.

Oh I do think potentially it's helped a little surge of newbie window cleaners breakthrough. However
Some won't last because of the various challenges window cleaning has to make it successful.
That's always been the case except this time we'll probably see just static van systems selling cheap on ebay not including the ro anymore as previousy
