Q for those who employ
« on: September 03, 2019, 07:18:04 pm »
How do you advertise for staff? I mean specifically what do you call the job? I’ve tried ladderless window cleaner, exterior cleaner... amongst others...

What do you get the best response from?

I have found advertising for  staff doesn’t get the type of persons that I would want to employ , you get the job seekers who don’t want to work but have to be seen to apply for jobs waisting your time if you arnt careful, I have got all my staff by recommendations  from friends or people I know have approached me asking for work , not all are suitable but I would rather get staff this way , I have found them to be far better workers . As for an advert something along the lines of wanted window cleaner with or without experience as training will be given good remuneration package for the right person , please apply in writing in the first instance to .............

Cheers. I found my bet employee on the job centre website, but years later he recommended his friend who was a gem too so I agree that works.

However, I don’t have anyone asking so need to look for them.

I think perhaps the job centre website is the problem more than  the title.

Does anyone use Indeed or something else?

Look up indeed and see how others are advertising!
Jobcentre is a crap response rate now as they've changed something with the advertising since January, don't think it's anything other than in branch now.
You'll have 60 odd year old men and women applying.

Thanks Mate. That’s really helpful.

When you get listed under cleaning jobs I get loads of mums looking for domestic cleaning 🧹

We use indeed. You can pay a bit more (fiver a day?) and reach more people.
If people are genuinely looking for work, they’ll be on indeed.
