we're mostly domestic so we get in for 7:30 and on the glass for 8am and work until the round is finished, which means 4-5:30 depending on the round, and depending on how hard we hit it.

same in the winter or the summer.  we clean 4 weekly so there's no option to reduce the workload in the winter

some commercial is earlier than that of course

i dont know whether its my age(47) or the fact ive been window cleaning for 26 years(probably a bit of both!) but id hate to work them hours personally these days....

If I could be arsed to work 8 - 5 I would be a rich man.

Theres lots of money in this game but who can be arsed to put in the hours required to achieve it.

whats the point?you d be knackered all the time........no point having a few quid without the time to enjoy it and spend a little....

i remember when i was a kid(im the oldest out of 3 boys)and my dad was always really tired.....he hated his job(lorry driver)and was often in a bad mood.......

then when i left school and got a "job" i was working 56 hours a week and the older guys who worked there(in their 20s/30s then)were always moaning how tired they were and how they hated their jobs.....most were married with kids......

i vowed there and then i was never getting married and having kids.......sod that........or work a "regular job"

yes....they felt trapped just like my dad....having to work a long hour job to provide for them.....

long hour job working for someone else(plus a wife and kids)= a miserable life/existence......

I think the fact that they had crappy minimum wage jobs, working 56 hour weeks made them unhappy Daz. Not the fact they had a wife and kids.

I paid £40 for a ultra bright LED bike light for my pole. Strapped it on and started cleaning a house at about 4.30pm. The cat inside went mental and i mean mental! It proceeded to destroy some blinds that i had to pay for. Head torch maybe, on a pole......nope lol!

There were probably miserable with themselves for being stuck in a dead end job and not being able to probably provide more for their family which they loved and had as an escape from their job, only to hate their job more for not being able to provide more for their family which meant everything to them.

Put it this way daz,   lol you know my story. I was married b4 for 12 yrs n had three kids, the oldest is now 21. I was divorced in 2010 and remarried by end of 2013 and i now have a step son n two more little ones.  Yep they all bring a certain level of stress, that comes with family life but i knew that from my previous marriage.  If it was doom n gloom, i certainly wouldnt be going back through it all now, if it was.

Though im glad your somewhat happy with your life, car and drum sticks. Yet something tells me, you would have reformed your life earlier if given the right circumstances and had your own loving family.

I agree Daz, plenty of people that have kids that can’t afford them and can’t provide for them properly. That’s generally what happens in low income areas like where you live.

However there are also plenty of  people, who have kids, can afford them and are more than capable to provide for them and prosper  being part of a family unit.
