GoCardless & Aworka
« on: September 01, 2019, 09:49:54 pm »
Hi guys. I've just got my first guinea pig customer for GoCardless & have set myself up an account. I also use aworka as my round software.

Do I have to get a customer's email address for them to sign up or can it be done by text?

If it is by email, how do I easily send them a sign up link if that's what I do? Is it through aworka or the GoCardless website?

I think I've invited my guinea pig customer by clicking the 'add customer' button & am just waiting for him to respond. Is that correct? I've ticked the 'accept GoCardless' box & 'process fees' box in the aworka settings page.

Do I have to do this for every customer I want to sign up? And eventually is it better to get a GoCardless button incorporated into my website?

Thanks in advance.

I've got it on the website so they can sign up or if we have their email on the aworka system they'll get the invoice as normal but it'll have the payment link which actually sets up the Gocardless direct debit, even though it says this is not a direct debit!

I've just had a gutter job pay by GC via the aworka invoice and it sets up the Gocardless direct debit.
I don't get why it does this as it's a one off payment.

In all honesty I think aworka could do a little more by explaining the system throughout, I know they have the help section but it's sht

I have the Go Cardless link on the payment page of my website. This opens the mandate when the customer clicks on it.  Go Cardless email me to inform me the customer has signed up. I open the customers account on Aworka, click edit , open “payment” , choose Gocardless which opens a window where you will find your customers name etc, click on it and it creates the account/Gocardless link.
From then on each time you confirm you’ve done their windows on the planner page they will receive an email to say it’s been done and that payment will be drawn from their bank account. When payment is made it automatically updates their account on Aworka as payment made.
I find it simple once you get to know the process.
Hope this helps. 😊

You don't have to do anything now as it sets itself up automatically as soon as the customer signed up. It used to be you would have to align it but not required now.

Ok thanks Plankton. I’m still finding it not quite as straightforward as I was led to believe.

My wife does the aworka now and one of the things I brought up was after we got their email make sure she sets it to email invoice after each job.
They then get the invoice sent automatically (after midnight) and this also has the link (if you've selected for this in settings) for Gocardless or even PayPal.
If they pay by GC it will setup the DD (even though it says this is not a DD)  ::)roll
After they have paid by GC it will then align with aworka and you don't need to do anything. Hit done on the next job and that's that.

This is what I hadn't done! I was just emailing a PDF invoice.

Hi guys. I've just got my first guinea pig customer for GoCardless & have set myself up an account. I also use aworka as my round software.

Well Done

They need an email address to create an account

If it is by email, how do I easily send them a sign up link if that's what I do? Is it through aworka or the GoCardless website?

You can send a link via GoCardless website or "Copy" the link and send via a personalised email or text

I think I've invited my guinea pig customer by clicking the 'add customer' button & am just waiting for him to respond. Is that correct? I've ticked the 'accept GoCardless' box & 'process fees' box in the aworka settings page.

That'll work although you may find a personalised email or text more effective.

Do I have to do this for every customer I want to sign up? And eventually is it better to get a GoCardless button incorporated into my website?

The more options you have the better the result will probably be

Thanks in advance.
