Hi all....yet another 'lame' question from a newbie.

'if you were to start all over, would you go WFP or traditional and what would be your reasons'.

Please forgive the questions, it is just that I am on the verge of starting up here in Holland and am finding it hard to obtain information. i have read what seems like thousands of posts here but am seeking further information.

My intended customer base would be that of domestic for the main part, normal terraced housing/back alleys, town houses and of course detatched house's.

If it was me id start up trad way my reason for this is that i read alot of people on here have gone Wfp but theys till do use trad ways every now on then for example downstairs so if you start trad way atleast you get to no how to hadle the blade and stuff like that plus if you aint got that much cash to start with trad way is best

correct me if I am wrong but I think that the use of ladders for window cleaning in Holland is now banned.  Therefore your only option is to work with wfp.  I would advise against a trolley system though as your capacity is severely limited (usually 25ltrs), instead a trailer or van mount can offer you up to 1000ltrs capacity for roughly the same cost as a trolley, also don't think you'll only need 200ltrs per day and buy a small ro unit - you'll want to upgrade it in no time so buy something that can produce at least twice what you expect to use each day.

Its a lot cheaper to start trad but WFP is definitely the future. So get some experience first but save up for a good system later.

First of all dave welcome to the forum, what ever the question, there is always someone one here with the answer, so never be afraid to ask, even the most trivial questions.
Also welcome to window cleaning I hope you enjoy it, Why don't you look into the commercial side as well, this will reap you more money.

The reason I have inserted a quote from Vince, is I agree entierly with his comments, you need to have the traditional  Experience first, and as vince said the layout cost is minimum.
but use the time while your gaining Traditional skill, to look into water fed systems, this is the future.

Many thanks to everyone for taking the time to reply....I am having to search here as I do not speak Dutch that well and trying to talk to the local window cleaners is proving a lot more of a problem that I anticipated, despite my very small amount of Dutch.
