Had a cheaper quote
« on: July 23, 2019, 05:10:08 pm »

1st floor, 5 windows  as per picture. £15 quoted.
My minimum charge £15 or £20 every other month. (Midlands)
As I quoted it I knew it was a bit strong but don’t need it and would rather have it at a good rate
Somebody was happy cheaper, I didn’t ask what she had been quoted.
What would my fellow professionals have quoted
😁

Same - flats - unless ground floor become problamatic when you clean the higher levels and water drips down.

All or none  ;D

but hey ho does it really matter anyway ?  some you win some your glad you didn't get - if they took a lower quote they are bound to keep looking for the next victim to price lower - beat way I look at it is this - while some idiot thinks he's a clever clogs being cheap I smile knowing he's tied up scratching a living while I do my better priced work.

Ive finally learnt just to pity the person lol.  I'm always amazed at how low some people price jobs and many a times I've posted on here of Facebook about it.  Then on the Facebook pages, people accuse me of being too expensive anyway (Yorkshire window cleaning).....
I just don't get it, if I'm working in an area and I find out people are charging more than me and are getting the work. Then I think, OK its time to put my prices up!   However, seemingly on Facebook groups, people don't think like that. They think they will do OK, keeping their prices low and see about under cutting instead.  For instance on a large clean I quoted 27 for 4wkly or £35 8wkly. The chap was happy n booked it in. A day before he phones to cancel, because of price. Someone had quoted £13 .  Which makes me wonder how much they charge for a basic 3 bed semi?

As much as I will always be amazed and I'm sure I will continue to be surprised with how low some will quote.  I no longer let it effect me personally, I just crack on with my own work and feel for the ones racing around convinced they can't ask for decent prices for work involved.

I would of charged about a tenner but even being new and wanting more work I don’t really want flats on my round, I always skip them when canvassing.

Yep I don't go for flats unless it is a block.

But ... I have a custy who moved into one and asked if I could do it. As he had been a good customer (then his wife died and he downsized) and it's about a mile from where I live and first floor (one above ground) I said I would on the basis that he cleared it with the neighbour below. I thought I might get the neighbour but it's obvious he doesn't have his cleaned and doesn't care about the water dripping.

Anyway - three windows (all single square panes) and a set of patio doors I do wfp through the balcony railings and I charge £12.
It's a game of three halves!

NK - you see it on here all the time - if your charging less than the "OP" or others - your a fool who's too cheap if you charge more than the "OP" or others you are then a greedy selfish pig.

some love it if they think they are earning more than you ( morally feel superior ) but hate it if they earn less ( hate to see others prosper ) - any pricing should be done to the maximum your market can stand

I don't do flats either unless it's ground floor.

£10 for me that
