Had it serviced in May and got the mobile mechanic do a forced regeneration from his laptop

Clouds blew out for a minute or so 🤨

Not had van do a regeneration yet
Had van 18 months ish

Not had any problems but I only do town driving

Do you guys put any dpf cleaners in your tank?

Ie forte dpf cleaner

Bit paranoid about DPF

What with 2021 and ultra low emissions zone expanding also

Wondered if a petrol van would be better in future?

Anyone got a petrol van? Don’t know how fuel economical they are

Anyone using diesel van that uses ad blue?

Take it they don’t have a dpf filter?🤔

I hate how they don’t give the option to do a forced DPF, for example, mine always seems to start the cycle at the end of a journey!!

Think the ad blue vans might not have a DPF cycle, but will google that now!

Turns out I think the ad blue vans still have a DPF cycle...

In future I don't think you're going to have any option other than to get a petrol or electric van, big companies like the Royal Mail have already started to replace their diesel vans with petrol.

It will affect people with petrol cars more than 13 yrs old I think and diesels before 2016

Your dpf IS regenerating, you just don't know it. I wouldn't worry about it, just drive it and give it some shoe now and then! Dpfs are a flawed technology to begin with.

On the facelift custom you can do a force regen via menu's but i think its an optional extra

surely they cant take it past zone 2 3 and 4 ? that will put alot of people out of business who simply cant afford to pay £12 a day or buy a new van, they'll need to compensate it wouldnt be fair on people to basically say your work van is now scrap ... ?

ULez is London only, and covers the same area as the congestion zone. if your vehicle is not Euro 6 (check registration doc) then you must pay the daily fee of £12.50 for small vans. Charge applies on all days, incl public holidays, and is in addition to the congestion charge.

It will later (probably 2021) be expanded to Greater London.

Enforcement is by ANPR camera (as with congestion charge)

Other cities will be introducing Clean Air Zones which are almost identical, requiring EURO 6 compliance to avoid fees, but the fees have not yet been finalised. These will start in 2020 or 2021.

Euro 6 diesel vehicles have an SCRT system. Basically, after the DPF, AdBlue is injected into the exhaust stream over a catalyst to convert any harmful NOx compounds to CO2. So if you have a vehicle that requires AdBlue it is almost certainly Euro 6.

Technically yes but it will add up to 3 and a half grand a year for a van. If it came to Greater London it would be a bit of a f up. With that sort of money they will force you to buy something new. Also I was was talking generally people in different trades will also suffer.
