I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how we go about buying a wc round.
I mean, do ppl sell them for a lump sum, and thats it. Or has anyone heard of ppl letting you work the round and pay it off in bits until you've met their asking price??

I bought a round for 2x it's value.

Worked out at a total of £1,200.

The deal was I did the work & paid it back over 3 months. £400 per month.

If any customers dropped out I took money off the total. I think 2 in total dropped out.

Rounds where I live in the north of scotland sell for 2x or 3x its value.

South of the border they may sell for a lot more, but i'm not too sure.

So don't pay over the odds and make sure who ever you buy from show you around every house and introduces you to the customer

thanks cv..i was just wondering really, mainly for future reference. i never seem to have a lot of money cos what i earn gets paid out before i can save it.
it will be handy for me in the future to pay a round off in instalments atm im renting one

Try not to rent. I understand it may well be your only option at mo, but try and get your own. More money for you that way!

cv..i know mate, i used to have my own round which i built from scratch.it sucks really having to rent one
my old round i started with just a car, a bucket, fairy liquid and two cloths. no roof bars or anything so i had to clean bungalows only..until i could afford to buy roof bars and a ladder lol

When you buy a round be very careful that you know what you are buying. Many rounds that are for sale have fallen into a neglected state in the months prior to the sale. Others have never been worked but just canvassed and then offered for sale.

I really do think that its better to start from scratch and get yourself out canvassing. You learn a lot more about the job and very soon get a better feel for you area. OK you make a fair few mistakes but thats life.

If its going cheap make sure you are the onlyone buyin the round, i know someone who sold a round to 4 different people and he was only renting it.

I think in my mind I know you are right mate! its just so time consuming, especially when you gotta large rented round to look after at the same time!
