employer pension scheme
« on: June 27, 2019, 12:42:47 pm »
For any employers

did you set your pension scheme up yourself or if not who did it for you ?

ive tried to sign up but it looks a right ball ache, apparently you have to take earning from their salary as well as pay yourself each month ???did your accountant deal with it ?

thanks

I do my own payroll so I had to set up my own pension scheme, if my accountant was doing my payroll I'd be getting him to set it up...

Ok I think my accountant now useless tbh and too expensive.

Ive set up a pension today but not sure if I've done it right.

I'll have to run it by my accountant. I think I'll switch accountants soon as they have down my end of year returns.

I used Nest incorporated into Brightpay payroll software for my one employee. I don't care if it's a good scheme or not, I was just fulfilling my legal requirement. Luckily for me he decided to opt out. :)

Yes Ive just signed up with nest. Just trying to get my head round how it works but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it with lots of reading.

I'll have to see if my accountant can put it through payrol

Last guy I had didn't qualify so I was ok but it's a lot of faff this employment lark.

everyone has a bad day  ;D

speeding is solely his problem - the bump is for your insurance

pension is linked to payroll so your accountant should be doing that

Cheers.

I'll check with accountant about pension.

I think your attitude and dazs attitude has highlighted how the same problem can be looked at in two ways.

However having to claim on the insurance is a bit of a sickener especially since it's a personal vehicle and not a company vehicle so it will cost me personally whether I go through insurance or not.

what do you mean by personal vehicle ?

I have a ltd company so I mean the van is not owned by the company. So I can't pay for any repairs etc via the company.

Its better this way generally as i don't incur a benefit in kind and the mileage rate works out better. But of course if any major repairs need doing etc then they come out of my post tax pocket  rather than being a tax deductible expense.
