As some of you already know, I'm new to this career.
I have brought some ladder mats which help with un even ground.
Should i consider as a must to also buy a ladder stop.
I always put saftey first and will use a exstension pole if i think ladders will not be safe to use.

Ladder stop? do you mean the ROJAK stopper I have never had a need for one I always use the ladder mat but some swear by them, wouldnt even think about an extension pole with traditional tools, if you want safety then look into wfp.

Dave always used a Rojak and never had no problems with it, even though i,m using a wfp system now the Rojak always comes out if were on fascias or awkward windows and i have 100% confidence in it.

i use a rojak - it is very good and well worth the £40 cost.

as for extension poles - i have an unger 3.8 mtr pole that i saw used to good effect in the USA, they are difficult to master using trad tools - but once you do its so much quicker than on a ladder.....however you can clean frames correctly using them

Ladder stoppers are great for any dodgy window.

A tip from Roy Harding was to drill four holes, one in each corner of the mat (not an easy task I found) and when using on grass, you can peg it to the ground using tent pegs; for any extreme angles.

I only use mine when cleaning gutters now, since I use WFP mostly, and definately on any dodgy window access.

It's a ladder stopper.

You place it under your ladder and it spread the weight out over a larger area and decreases your chances of your ladder slipping out from underneath you.

Google for it.

The rojak ladder stopper is an essential bit of kit. I would be lost without it. Pain in the arse to carry around with you but invaluable piece of kit.

Dave's question was whether he needs a ladder stopper as well as the mats.

I use mats on uneven ground and to avoid holes in the lawn, and also anywhere the ground is a bit slippy - like wooden decking and mossy concrete - but if I can't get the ladder at the right angle I don't climb it. I can't see the need for a stopper as well as mats.

Just had a look at the link, good idea I'm going to make my own, probably cost me around a fiver for the ally, and welding,
Drill four holes in the corners for pegging to soft ground, seen that idea on a post here somewere.
