A good idea but unworkable I suppose
« on: June 30, 2006, 10:42:58 pm »
It struck me the other day when I was looking at a thread regarding accident insurance how much these insurance companies must be making out of high risk occupations like ours. Wouldn,t it be good if we could get lots of wcs to commit to a monthly DD of say a tenner a month which went into a fund that would pay out a decent amount for a short term injury, ie a broken limb.
As it would be run by wcs for wcs no profit would be taken and we would all benefit from lower monthly premiums and better payouts.
But I suppose like lots of good ideas it's probably unworkable.

paul, it would work for small claims, its the big one that would land the organisation in the s***t, someone suing for a million smackers,

Obviously you would have to limit it to short term injuries eg broken bones

It would work well if you could rely on everyone being honest.  Unfortunately, in the real world,  there are always some who will milk it.

Wasat Brands Hatch today to see the DTM's, WICKED,  ;D.

Now to the point. Police were there & had a stand about speed cameras & safty,  :o, during our chat he informed me because of the high number of uninsured drivers & dodgy claims, (injurys) , we the honest drivers pay on average £50 extra to cover them.  >:(

Whats worse if they do get caught the fine is less than the insurance if they paid for it.  ???

They say crime doesnt pay.  ???.
