Need some advice on a customer
« on: June 11, 2019, 09:51:36 pm »
Well this is a weird situation but I thought I’d ask as others may have had this happen haha.
I got a new customer from canvassing today along with her neighbour, £15 per house so £30 together for like 40 mins work, pretty happy with that.
Well when speaking to her she told me her last window cleaner stopped coming as his misses thought he was sleeping with her and her neighbour so she (window cleaners wife) demanded her cancel them  :o
I didn’t know what to say so I just laughed but alarm bells were ringing a bit.
Without sounding too judgmental she did look a bit “tarty” and seemed quite flirty, she said her neighbour will definitely want hers done too as it’s her best friend but she wasn’t in, I said I’ll give her a leaflet through the door but need proper confirmation before doing them, the lady leaned over towards my notepad/leaflets and wrote on the back of leaflet “Sarah we have a new victim, love jade” she said post that and said she’ll agree to it etc, she has texted me to say her friend has agreed and leaving the money with her and gate open but she keeps putting kisses on the text, I reply with none and just professional message but she keeps putting kisses on the replies.
I have a gf I’ve been with for 5 years I’m happy with her so ain’t looking to mess about (also the women is really average)
I haven’t even met the neighbour but I’d guess she’ll be the flirty type aswell. I don’t mind if it’s just a bit of a laugh but I get the impression the women I met is actually looking to take it further...
How do I deal with this guys? I’m not interested in her only want to do the windows hahaha I would knock her on the head but it’s £30 and I’m new, they also both want every 4 weeks which is good for my business.
Has anyone had to deal with this, even if you haven’t how would you deal with this?
I am doing their windows Friday.

Yep. I have this all the time. Women just chuck themselves at me; I can't get any work done.
It's a game of three halves!

I have  quite a few customers  who put a x on the end of the message so I wouldn't worry about that  :D

I would just get on with the jobs and not worry about it mate if one of them invites you in politely decline if you don't want a bit  :D
Other than that that's about all you can do!
Good luck  ;D

There are some on here who have shackled up with their customers, so be prepared for a mix of answers.

My take....... You've already drawn a conclusion as to what your getting yourself into with these two and also think what (if any) reputation these two have in the street if your gut feeling is right. So in that sense, will cleaning their houses help you gain more on the street or not.
Is it really worth it

I love the last sentence  ;D.
Tell them you work with your girlfriend.
I'd offer to give you a hand but I don't think I can manage it every four weeks these days.

I’d say take some protection- just in case you change your mind . With the offer of 2 horny women wanting it, you may change your mind last minute. Be safe , you don’t know if the old window cleaner had crabs 🦀

Be careful, this could very easily be a scam.

A similar situation cropped up with me.

Two women, very “forward”, and they would constantly try it on. “I’m
Just the window cleaner”, I would always say. “Leave me alone”. One time after cleaning the insides I noticed my wallet and money pouch was gone.  :'(

It’s definitely a scam.

That week They stole my wallet Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

They’ve booked me in again this Friday.

Maybe they are just a pair of windup artists competing with each other and winding you up in the process.  Her note on the back of your leaflet was to tell her neighbour you are her new window cleaner as well. At least you've got both their first names etc.

I've only every had one woman come out and ask for a quote to clean her windows dressed in a very skimpy vest top with nothing underneath. I just took it as her way of negotiating a cheap cleaning price.

I never saw her dressed in that garb again and later found out that her lesbian 'wife' had moved in with her and her daughter. She was always drama to get money out of.
They both sold the house and moved into a rented property. The payment for the last clean was outstanding.

I saw the car parked outside a row of 5 or 6 street houses a couple of months later. I knocked on the door of the center house and the occupant told me that they had moved into the end house. "Does she owe you money by any chance?" I just laughed.  (I may drive an unlettered van but I'm a well known figure in this town as I'm credited as the introducer of this brilliant new cleaning system that other window cleaners have copied. ;D)

I found her in after a couple of unsuccessful knocks and got my last window clean payment that she 'forgot' to pay me for. She was pretty surprised I had found her new residence.
"How did you find me?"
" Your car is parked outside."
 "Oh."

The new owners of her house became good customers and I haven't seen XXXX (name ommitted not kisses ;D) around in a while now.

She probably just wants her back doors giving an extra going over with your pole

A lot of successful window cleaners have this quality.

They have what television producers call:

"Something for the mum's" ;-)
