Grey streaks/stain on upvc guttering.
« on: June 07, 2019, 12:21:13 pm »
Recently did a fascias, soffits and guttering clean. They were very dirty with black/grey markings.

I used Virosol but could not get rid of all the light grey staining. I went up ladders with a cloth to try and remove but still couldn't.
Customer was still happy as it was a massive improvement on before but I wondered is there a product that can be applied without the necessity of up close ladder work.

If there are only a few stains, or tiger stripes,
I use a magic eraser pad, cut into a thick strip and attached to the above, using 2 elastic bands.
Obviously, you can just attach it to your pole and use from the ground.

Personally I'd just leave it.......I also wouldn't get up a ladder to try and remove the tiger stripes......

Like you say it's a vast improvement and the customer is happy so just move on to your next job....

Theres is only so much you can do unless your charging them very high prices(I dont)then its scrubbing them with CIF/melamine foam etc or bleach which can bring it's own problems, add a lot of time to the job and is much harder work.....
price higher/work harder!

exactly my thoughts.

it needs to be 'good enough' not perfection.

i give fascias and guttering a good go over. each section probably get about 2-3 brushes over then i move on. the before/after results are great with that and the customers are happy.
