I don’t believe you work in the rain Nathan. In fact, you spend so much time during working hours on here, that I’m not sure you work at all.

Depends, what hours a working day means to you?  At the moment I'm sat in the car, outside the school, doing the school run. So yep, Ive clocked off now and time before that, I was having a bite to eat in the van so I can avoid dangerous Toby Carvery gravy 😂

So many of you lot on this forum are a bunch of wet pansies seriously.

Why would you let something as miniscule as rain affect your earnings.  I don’t let rain affect how much i want to earn in a year or let it affect our schedule at allz

If you lot want to stay at home and watch daytime tv then thats fine.

I however don’t let rain decide when i can or cant work.  I work when i want all year round no exceptions unless i decide to take time off for holidays or sickness etc.

Can’t understand why there are so many of you on this forum that would happily lose possibly 1-2 weeks of earnings per year due to rain.

Theres my rant for the month.

Nathan im with you on this one 100%, dont listen to any of em.

Its pi$$ing down here in North Wales i aint coming home until we’ve done atleast £400!!  Got to save for a lambo one day at a time.  ;D ;D

 8) 8)

For me its simple, working in heavy rain is not only miserable but it makes the working day much harder, if I wanted a job where I needed to do a 40 hour week all year round then I would have stayed in a factory but as I don't then it makes sense to work when the conditions are more pleasant and easier, Nathan K is well known for making things as hard as possible so it doesn't surprise anybody that this would include working in weather conditions that he doesn't need to be working in.

I have to disagree, I think I've got it set up as easy as it can be for efficiency.
1) large brush to cover greater expanse of
     glass/frame
2) plenty of water coverage on said brush/glass
3) hot water to make easier the cleaning effort
4) I don't have to carry my pole hose or main hose
5) I do various add on so not to get bored
6) I enjoy short working days, long wknds and I don't
mind getting wet whilst I'm working.

😂😂 Easy

We’re cleaning panels on a roof by Heathrow. No dramas.
All plane sailing.

Yes, business is really starting to take off.

How did you "land" that job?  ;D

Guess I had the Wright answers.
Winged it more like.
That's enough now, it's getting Boeing.

It's not about losing one or two weeks a year it's about losing customers period.
Tried it before on the round that is literally outside my door....122 houses in total.....on average every other one that was in  asked me not to do them and some of the others weren't happy.
You can't educate them when they don't want them doing when it's raining....that day it was sort of in between light and heavy rain but no wind so it was noticeably raining.
If I wasn't a window cleaner I wouldn't want them doing either.

That is where you are wrong.  You can educate your customers.  Your customers are used to you not cleaning in the rain, so therefore their natural reaction would be to complain because you've made it clear you dont clean in the rain.

When you force your customers to accept that you clean all year round in all weathers, it does not take long before they even bat an eyelid when you turn up to clean in pouring rain.  You educate them to how you run your business.  Throw in a satisfaction guarantee or free reclean as a bonus, and you dont get any issues from customers when cleaning in bad weather.

That is totally fine and each to their own for what they want.  However some of us would like to earn more money, and work all the time, and not be dictated to by something as out of our control as the British Weather!

I personally find working in the rain to be enjoyable.  It's humbling.  When you get home soaking wet, to realise whilst everyone else was at home doing bugger all, you've made £250-£300 that is a nice feeling, and the hard work feels truly rewarding.

I just think some people on here should be a bit more open to the idea of working in rain, and i mean proper rain.  Also not putting those down who do work in the rain like we are crazy.

So then Darren, where and when have I upset you recently. As you seem to be joining the band with Sean and try to pick fault with my posts now as well. What's changed this year for you?

You keep thinking its personal Nathan but for me and others your posts tend to give good examples of how not to do things which is why they get picked on, its like you have run out of sensible things to do so in order to keep the boredom at bay you have added nonsense to the list.

I used to, but not so much any more.
Got a full day in yesterday and nothing done today. Tomorrow looks workable.
I hate the wet van seats for a few days after.
Always worked Monday to Thursday with Friday as catch up or a day off.
Very rarely is the forecast right and even more rare is a day like today with constant medium to heavy rain.
Replaced my membranes, not a wasted day

Work in the rain or dont work in the rain........its up to you it's your business.......

But dont moan about being behind schedule or being skint because then itll be entirely your own fault for slacking off......

I've been doing this job for many years and used to slack off myself a lot when it was wet during my trad days but no need to with WFP.......also most customers never say a word about me working when it's raining.....

I like to keep on schedule, have the days I want off and  keep the money coming in.....

I feel worse having the day off than I do working in wet weather

I work Trad and do like to work in the rain.
Nobody at my first job which is 2 holiday cottages so completed that, then the next job a couple of doors up the woman came running out saying "I don't want them cleaned as it is raining, I never want them cleaned in the rain, I don't care if you can't come back this week or not, you can come back next month".

Next village I have 5 in a road, it was steady rain but straight down and not hitting the windows, so I asked each of my customers if they were ok with me cleaning them, they all said yes. The last but one customer who is a perfectionist asked if I had cleaned the other neighbours in the road, I said yes and he said "go ahead", I took extra care and always detail so there is not even 1 drop of water of the glass.
He chatted with me and seemed happy, paid me, while I was there my last customer called him (they are friends) and said she did not want me to clean. I asked if it was because it is raining or because she is out, he said because she is out so I said I can clean them as she only has a small gate. He told me not to.
So I called her in the evening to rearrange and asked why she did not want them cleaned and she said because it was raining.

My friend is a domestic cleaner at the perfectionists house and she told me he told her straight away that I had cleaned the windows in the rain, she said "oh, he normally asks the customer first if they want them cleaned or not" the wife said "to be fair, he did ask". He showed the cleaner some rainbow marks on the conservatory door, I still do not know why it left those marks.

So even if a customer says they don't mind if you clean in the rain, they may still not really like or want it.

Please sir may I clean your windows today.  ;D

Set out your conditions from the start and you’d save yourself all the begging.

Defo not a good way to run a business, you book a load of work in for the following day then ask each of them if they will allow you to work  ::)roll
What would you have done if all of them said no  ??? Just drove from customer to customer asking if you can work and then go home empty handed  ???

As above,  asking if you can clean windows whilst it's raining is asking for trouble.

All I do when I get a new customers, is a quick speal of how I work. Ie I leave the water on the windows for them to dry clear as it's purified water. I also work in the rain as it doesn't effect the quality and payment is by direct debit.
Then they get a welcome pack which has it in writing as well.   I've covered all bases, very quickly.
Never lost a customer in four years on wfp working in the rain

When I was trad though, I never cleaned in the rain
