I've been using hot water for a while now, using an immersion and different running times of it being on.
What are my findings? I hear you ask 🤔🤔😂
Hot water is great and does indeed clean better. On first cleans especially, it makes light work of all the grime. The same on gutter/fascia/soffit cleans and even conservatory roof cleans. There's no need for added detergents on these types of jobs, so less rinsing time required etc. Therefore these types of jobs become really easy to do.
What about maintenance cleans.? This would depend which areas you clean in. For instance, on the coastal regions, I would say it's ideal and you will certainly feel the benefits on every clean. The same would be true where there are lots of trees!
Tree sap, spider poo and the likes come of really easy with hot compared to cold.
However, all my work is mostly 4wkly and you turn up and the dirtiest thing to clean is a dusty window sill! Obviously hot water doesn't matter in these cases and this is about 60 - 70% the case with my work. I currently choose to use hot water week in, week out, why?
The hose is certainly easier to work with and this makes for a more pleasant working day experience. For the odd stubborn bird poo marks, it makes life easier and for the new jobs I pick up (first cleans) as I would rather have hot than not on these jobs. There has been times when I have forgotten to turn the immersion on and I have hated it!
Now you can manage with cold and the vast majority do, do so! However hot does make it easier in so many ways
