From my IBC tank to my van, I’ve got a submersible Pump, and 1 inch hose. The problem is that I’ve never had it on a reel. I need about 25 metres of hose to get from my garage to two vehicles comfortably. (Otherwise I’ve got to move the vehicles around and it’s a right pain.) The amount of times the hose gets kinked and I have to spend time coiling it back up. It’s more frustrating than anything else. Anyone use a fire hose reel? Or any other reel that comfortably takes 25 metres of 1 inch hose? Thanks In advance chaps. (Here’s a fire hose reel in case you didn’t know what I was talking about.) https://www.firesafetystore.co.uk/fire-extinguisher-accessories/fire-hose-reels-and-accessories/complete-fire-hose-reels/manual-fixed-hose-reel-with-19mm-hose-included/
yep tried one a few years ago, They don't have a handle to wind back, so would need to fabricate one to fit, additionally the pipe work is standard steel so will rust over time
Do you need to reel up every day ?we use 1 1/2" rigid hose - its fixed around the wall of the unit to the front then 3 meters free moving so the vans reverse into an area and fill upthe hose is then just hooked up out of the wayDarran

I can just reach my van parked on the drive way with hose No1 but if I need to fill the other van parked in the street then I have to couple both hoses together.I've thought about a hose reel at times but have never found anything suitable at the right price. I certainly wouldn't pay Ł400 + for this:https://www.pitchcare.com/shop/hose-reels/hose-reel-carrier-120m-x-25mm.htmlI have a fixed length from the IBC tank via a transfer pump to the garage door. I hang the end of this up on a hook when not in use. I then couple hose No1 to this hose at the door.I use 1" male and female hose couplers from Machine Mart. I've done it this way for the past 12 years.
Is the ground between the inch tank and your van yours .if it is could you run a pipe /hose below ground to a connection that’s closer . I did this using 1 inch water pipe then flexible hose for next few meters
I just use the lay flat stuff from machine mart , got about 30 m on this gardena reel , could get way more on if needed As long as you don’t do real tight turns it’s fine , keep it out of the sun though
