I just ordered a 4040 to and will probably need a pump, what you you recommend?

After much research and deliberating I went with one of these.

Its pricey but a little cheaper than pure freedoms rotary vane booster pump. Its rated for continual use and up to the job, boosts my pressure from 30 up to 80 psi. 6 months so far and very happy with it. Liked the fact it is in a box and was literally a plug n play.
Others swear by the clarkes cbm 240 ( think thats what its called ) from machinemart.

Got one myself, had mine 12 months and they really do the job

I might get one of these myself- do they just plum into the water coming in from the tap then go from the pump to the prefilters ?

Yes, plumb water from tap in to it but put pre filters before it, that way both the pump and ro are protected.

Cheers- so it goes in between the pre filters and membrane , not before the prefilters

i like the clarkes pump, use washing machine water hoses for your 4040 system  they great and cheap, no leaks
Plus i use a water pump box for extra hoses, or delivering from a tank
after the pump has pushed water through the membrane it only has a slow flow so you need a pretty good pump the optmium pressure to make your membrane last is 150psi which would give you a great flow rate enough for two poles at least, i have 6 jets on mmy brush!
Thats about as big a  clarkes 1200watt self priming pump comes in cheap so good choice id say
ive seen it selling online for 75.00 pounds,  you get more water and better water so it saves you replacing expensive  crystals in the membrane filter, saves you money, sounds ok too.
i would love to know what the put the water pump box, ie the specs on the pump and the battery please
