Hi all,
Please could you give me some help with using tfr?
I bought 25ltrs from euro car parts as recommended to me by a fellow windy. It is called triple x TFR. It’s says to dilute 1:50 but I have diluted it 1:20 and it still doesn’t seem to be doing much. I sprayed it on the next doors green algae that is all over their guttering brushed and rinsed, eventually it went, but it would have been just as easy to just wipe it over with the pole system. It would of done the same job. I was expecting something miraculous but nothing really happened. Am I doing something wrong, am I expecting to much  or has it been hypo’d up!?

If your looking for a decent product that you can get anywhere then no nonsense decrease from screwfix will do a better job than most tfrs.
The trick with any cleaner is to wet the surface first to loosen the dirt and give the cleaner something to bond to. If you apply it to a dry surface it wont penetrate very well and will itself dry quickly.
After wetting the surface apply the product, gently agitate with your brush, leave for a few minutes before washing off with wfp.
Doing it this way even the weakest tfrs will do a good job. Deffo try out the screwfix stuff though or perhaps try the new stuff from window cleaning warehouse and let us all know how it is..

TFR usually comes in two forms Caustic and Non Caustic.
Non Caustic is O.K. neat.
Caustic isn't and don't use it on paintwork it's what they use for stripping paint!

Personally I don't use tfr, never rated it for our line of work.
I use a heavy duty cleaner from a local cleaning supplier, amazing stuff but can only be bought from them.
As I said though the screwfix stuff also does a very good job and because it's a clear liquid it's fine to use neat. I fill up a spray bottle and spray the liquid neat directly onto my brush, which I agitate into the surface (after wetting).

I’ve always been told this but the guy selling Vision also sells caustic tfr I believe 🤔

I certainly wouldn’t use any tfr  neat on white plastic it’s asking for trouble it can and will permanently turn it yellow  been there and done that 20 years ago , also if you get it on glass and it dries it will leave a varnish like mark that cannot be removed
