I bought a bag of tulsion 3 1/2 years ago. I change resin approx once a year and still have one change left for next year. Once used the bag is double bagged as it was supplied originally, sealed back up with zip ties as it was originally, and stored in a dark room.Actually the last (3rd change) was 18 months after the 2nd change. After about a year the tds after di rose to 1ppm and then dropped back to zero. Then suddenly the water ppm after di rose to 5ppm with the input before di at 3ppm from the r/o. That jump forced the change.
Just found out the hard way. Had an open bag in my garage, only 2 months old but went to change resin at weekend and it was fecked.tds was higher coming out than going in.Had to sling 3/4 bag and dash to local supplier this morning before starting work.Never knew it could go off so quick, does anyone know what happens to it to make it go like this ?
Thankfully I've not used resin for over a year or so now. I fill up the ibc tank straight from RO at 006.When I did use resin, I kept it folded in a bag and inside a large container with a lid on and that seemed to last a while.

I thought we’d been told that resin is a type of plastic. If that’s the case I can’t see how it would go “off”???
