I had a BT enginner at my house today completing some work they had to finish from weeks ago.
Now four weeks ago when the first BT guy was here, he had to wait for a guy to come out and hold the line up, that was going across the main road, the guy came out and took this carbon fibre pole from his van and extended it maybe 25/30 in the air, nice bit of kit I thought.
Today another guy came out and told me he would have to wait for the cherrie picker to come out, so I asked him why he could not use the pole, He then told me that the use of these poles was now on hold, because of there HSE regulations. They are now waiting to see if they can use them again in the future, But the guy told me that this is very unlikely.
I asked him what BT would do with the poles that they have, and he told me like most of there stuff it will be pushed to the back of the store room. Big smile on my face I asked if BT would consider selling these's poles, and his reply was to pop into there depot tomorrow and ask them, if they will he said you would probably have to put your name down, until this HSE reg has been finalised.
So tomorrow I will pop into our local BT depot and find out some more details.
If you Have a BT depot near you, Pop in and do the same, get your name down for a carbon fibre pole.
