Pure water additives
« on: April 02, 2019, 03:26:03 pm »
When I first started using this stuff I was very much for it but I have have stopped for around 8 months to a year, since I’ve had pump issues I’ve stripped everything out including the vessel and I’ve noticed that everything is coated in this stuff.
The inside of my tank is also still coated in it and I’m still getting bubbles at the brush although not having adding any for like I say 6 months +,at the weekend I took the vessel indoors and ran hot water through it and cleaned out what look like a build up of scabs,I put the vessel back in the van ran the pump flat out for 10 minutes or so and happy days pump now working fine.
Just wondering if anyone has had issues with this stuff with blocking vessels and pumps,in the past it’s killed a pump due to it being full of foam and residue.

Don't you use nuclear resin for parts per billion water? If so, why the fook would you want to be adding additives to your water  ???

I have always maintained that there addertives are not needed , why spend hundreds or thousands on filtration and Chuck this rubbish in your tank ?.. shear madness it’s a placebo effect , doesn’t do anything that 000 water will not do , those that use addertives and claim that they are good generaly don’t use 000 water  that’s why they get better results using it , untill it gumes up everything, I know a couple of cleaners near me that have had exactly the issues that you have just described they had to replace pumps pressurewash tanks and flush with bleach it try and remove it , then they went back to just pure water and surprise suprise  declaired that pure was quicker at rinsing without leaving spotting from the bubbles left behind 😂😂

Like I say I stopped using it actually it killed 2 pumps when I took the pumps out and looked they were completely caked it residue, the resin vessel is covered and the inside of the tank.
It will just need scrubbing inside the tank to get rid of it a bit more but there is still bubbles at the brush but I get no spotting at all and never did when using it.

this is interesting. I started using added sparkle about 2 months ago, just out of curiosity.
really believing initially that it was a placebo , and just "snake oil "!

however , it really does eat through dirt, bird muck and snail trails.
I didn't use it to go any faster. but it does aid the cleaning.
I always use pure,   000 and go through a bag of resin roughly every 6 weeks ... my tap water is around 75.   I do let my water creep up to 005, but have never had any issues.
thanks NWH  for sharing this . I may need to rethink things , or flush my pump once a month with vry hot bleachy water!

I actually liked using it I found it did glide better especially on PVC stuff definitely not placebo for me,the thing is over time it doesn’t matter if you use a small amount because over time it builds up by clinging to all parts of you’re system ie vessels pumps and tank.
I had a spluttering pump a few years ago so took off one side to see what was going on,to my surprise it was full of what looked like fairy liquid.
The first time I put this down to a bad pump as it was at least a couple of years old but after replacing it the same thing happened again within 6 months to a year.

ive not used any additives for a few years now but i remember the gunk and slime at the bottom of my tank that built up over the 6-12 months of using it...
price higher/work harder!

It goes a cross between fairy liquid and baby oil,my tank is fully baffled so I can only get to the side where the tank lid is,I’ve cleaned out the vessel but with it still being in the tank it may build up again.

There was a problem before that I heard of if people were mixing a few different additives. Version 1 with version 2 etc.

Vision has been going for 6 years now, and as far as I know, david hasn’t had people give him any feedback of a residue problem. You’d think everyone would be suffering with it if that was the case, and there are loads of people using additives.

There's a certain type who will fall for any rubbish, no point in looking for sensible in their decisions.

There are certain people that derive old vans and use cold water too on these frosty mornings.

What is the problem if people are happy to drive older vans?

Even though I use hot water, cold water also does the job well, just a fraction slower and hot helps in certain situations like first cleans or fascia cleans etc.
However for me,  ive never understood wanting to add a substance to pure water when so much trouble has gone into making tap water pure.
I especially dont understand vision users,  who needed the visible presence of bubbles to either convince themselves or the customer that the windows are clean because it looks like soap is used.
You might want to jump on the facebook pages and describe whats happened to your tank n pumps. Currently someone on one of the pages are asking about additives. Your experience may help these lost souls  ;D

The bubbles give the impression of soap in the solution, we associate soap with better cleaning which has a certain amount of truth, the stupidity comes from how little soap is actually in the water, call the soap an additive to hide this fact and its a win win.

I know what you’re saying dryclean but I found it does make the brush slide and it’s a lot easier on plastic frames etc,I don’t use it anymore due to this residue issue but I did find it had benefits.
For the life of me I don’t know what’s in it maybe a bleach like product but it kept the brush lilly white.

It’s funny saying that, ‘the stupidity comes from how little soap is actually in the water....’

I find it ‘odd’ about how much plutonium is needed to kill 100,000 people or how much semen is required to make a person who may inhabit this earth for 85 years and whose heart will beat over 2,000,000,000 times.

It’s your own minds limitations that prevent you from seeing the full picture.

Stupidity is the relevant word you need to focus on in your post.

No its common sense, if soap could be diluted with water 200 to 1 and still make a difference then you might have a point, but then I suspect as per usual this is just another sad little grudge soaked reply rather than something that is meant to be sensible

Sad little grudge because it disputes your opinion?
