I connect my hose reel  by using two hozelock connectors one being the external port connector on the van the other being on the end of my hose reel,the two are then joined using a male male connector. Ive done it this way for many years but have always found the fittings leak after a while,I change the o rings on the male male which sometimes works for a while
I have tried many different types of hose lock fittings,Ie  gardiners,purefreedom,hose lock,screw fix ,Wilkos etc

Just wondered if any one else using the same set up uses fittings that last longer and don't leak,or is there another way to connect up
Any help,advice appreciated,thanks for reading

I use slick connect fittings from my pole hose to reel hose,never leaks as for hose reel  to pump hose I use normal hoselock type,they leak,I even tried the brass elbow fittings on hoselock and rectus  26 fittings from Gardiners and they still leaked.
I think the best thing is a Cox reel or the like where the connectors are part of the reel.

Just about any connector will leak with repeated use, in the case of hoselock fitting it can from poor manufacture but defo poor and cheap o rings - if you smear silicone grease on the o rings each day they won’t dry out shrink or crack

Alternatively reduce the number of connections in the system - go for roller guides through the floor or use a fixed reel in the back of van

So you must hump the reel in and out of the van every day then......

It's a harder way of working for starters......much easier leaving the reel in the van......

I use a  fixed reel with a heavy duty brass rotary joint on the side with a 1/2inch brass barb,double clipped with jubilee clips.....the other end has a rectus 26 fitting going into my diesel heater......it NEVER leaks.....
