Has anyone recently had a service on their thermopure system? Looking to see how much ionics are charging these days.

Actually I think I will just be a new one as they only cost £135 😆😂

They are definitely are not man enough for the job though , I only managed 65*c at the brush today

To be fair , the parts they fit are ludicrously expensive , thats not the fault of ionics , its a racket by eberspacher/webasto.

I use a local company that are Webasto trained service engineers. Webastos website used to have list of trained engineers in different locations throughout the UK. Yes it's expensive but only needs doing every couple of years.

I would have thought the amount of training needed to service a webasto is minimal. Any decent mechanic should be able to do it.

The term "Webasto trained engineer" makes it sound much more complicated (therefore expensive) than it really is.

If anyone is interested and ever needs to replace there circulation pump on a webasto 90 they are the same pumps as used on Jaguar cars with superchargers of around 10 years old. Can be picked up on eBay for around £40. Much cheaper than the £300 new from a webasto supplier

There's a place in Plymouth that service ebersbacher heaters, (water & air) by the coast on industrial estate, can't remember the address so you'd have to google the address.

Correct , they are pretty simple and i fitted a new burner, glow pin and flame sensor on my old one , slightly fiddly but not at all complicated.

You can service them yourself but it’s not basic basic DIY I would say,if it’s under warranty you can’t touch it I can’t toich mine for another 2/1/2 years yet.

Mine is over 4 years old run for over 8000 hours and never been serviced , and it’s running as good as the first day I had it provided it’s run hard and not stop start they don’t need servicing , when they start producing white smoke then it’s time for a new screen and pin and burner housing , will be intresting to see how long it goes on for , but if it went bang tomorrow I cannot complain, and it’s still cheap hot water as far as Ime concerned, much quicker than cold , wish I had gone hot 18 years ago .

fair play.........great if your handy with things like that,i bet you ve changed brake discs and pads on your vehicles over the years too and other basic mechanical jobs........i wouldnt even attempt it myself....

im hoping for the same....i dont let my heater shut down very often during my working day,its normally on from before i drive to my first job until the end of my last job.....
