Heya Bud.

You were extremely kind not too long ago to share your success with royal mail. Its been very busy since last summer been motivated again since an injury sorting a new main van and other stuff wanting to test myself once again!  :D

so would like to invest a chunk of profits into leafleting with royal mail. Wanted to ask a few things tho mate. one was who would you recommended to print they'll need to knock something up to so an all in one service. what gsm would you recommend i went for 175s last time.Still have my old leaflets but wish to make them much more simple a bit like the one you showed us. Wanted to drop around 50,000 leaflets would you expect 0.02 return so around 100 initial cleans  ?

And do you have a general system in place for new customer cold calls unlike canvassed where you say what you're offering initially ring ins ive had all they want are their windows cleaned and some check calender's asking to come on a specific day. Do you just say You'll text them the night before to unlock the gate and they can pay later via bacs and how do you handle the ones that insist on being home and wont allow you to clean unless they're in.

Rm mentioned to me that there is a 6 week wait and ill need to deliver to a depo in kent so better get sorted if i intend on dropping around may time! Thx in advance

Saxoprint for the printing. Flyers Inked for the design but I’ve got a new design for this year.

Just normal. I don’t take customers with specific requirements. Text or email. Bill left or payment on the day.

It’s about a 3 week lead but it takes a few weeks to set the account up.

Cheers mate I gave saxoprint quick call. They're really cheap but they don't design the leaflet you have to do it yourself. They have this app but I have no idea where to start with creating one like yours so I might have to contact a graphic designer or a smaller business who can do all in one.

I recall ages ago I did a 7500 drop and I think I got 15 or 20 cleans. Which sounds like just under a third of a percent. I was pretty happy with that so I was going to just go with a leaflet similar to your one if thats cool, since you also had decent results.
oh what GSM did you go for and what finish just standard 130 gsm or the 170 gsm?

And so if you do get an enquiry wanting you to clean the house outside the route at a particular time won't give you the gate code and I won't let you clean unless there in . Oh and they insist on an accurate quote without you seeing it just by description and photographs  :D I'm assuming you won't be able to service them. I know this last paragraph is a bit silly because I kind of answered it myself but when your money is exposed you kind of have to take as many jobs as possible its different to canvassing so just wanted to hear it from the horses mouth. I guess there's plenty of decent customers that call up from the leaflets so you don't need to worry too much about the odd one like that

What sort of people do you have in your area?

In 10 years I’ve never met anyone insist they be in while I clean the outsides - the only people who need to be in are those who have internal cleans - they know what day we are coming and adjust their diary to suit

If they won’t give you a key or code to the rear either drop them or clean front only it’s not complicated

You seem to worry about something that raises it head in maybe 1 in a thousand - but as I put at the start maybe you work in a rather peculiar area

I get the odd one that insists they are in and I just say sorry, no. As with electric gates.

Only if they give the code. The only exception is if they get gates installed after we took them on and then we'll do them until we arrive and they're locked and then I say give me the code or we won't do them any more.

Hiya buddy yes you do get those sort of people I'm pleased 8 weekly has also confirmed it.
They are far and few between but they do exist and it's not too uncommon sometimes I find myself having to sell them the service at the going rate and they usually accept it however sometimes reluctantly accept it and they're almost prefer to pay extra so they can be in and so you can go out of your way for them. I've got no problem quoting over the phone in most cases the problem lies when you give them the first quote and then they go back and say oh sorry must be 2 p.m. on this date because I'm working. And then you need to basically decide how you want to tackle if you go out of your way for the price quoted or Uri quote the price calculating the difference of the areas where you are at the time.

These are in quite affluent areas of London where there's plenty of gates and they are sometimes very rigid on that. Like I say it's not too common but you do occasion you get that I actually had an email the other day. If you was to see it you would know what I'm talking about.

Anyhow 8 weekly I just really want to focus on getting my leaflets out there ! thank you so much for all the help you provided with your initial previous post too.

So was it 130 GSM that you use?  Or do you recommend something a bit higher quality.

Also hopefully it's ok to ask you specifically these things here probably still useful for others to look at im a bit worried that it goes completely off Topic otherwise maybe I could pop you down an email or something  :) I think all I really need to know now mate is how to edit your leaflet on Saxo print with my details on it and yeah the quality of the leaflet GSM wise. Thanks so much again !

Get a leaflet design on ebay. Or FlyersInked on Facebook for the handwritten ones.

I've just got a new design, but I don't think the design is all that important as long as it screams WINDOW CLEANING SERVICE and CALL FOR A QUOTE.

Check on the Royal Mail website, but 130gsm is cheaper to send out than 175gsm.
I've always used 135gsm and it does the job. (Never used Royal Mail, but i'm thinking about it).
Also, if you look on the RM website, they have some information you can download to help with you with your campaign.
"Thank you for calling: if you have a 1st floor flat, mid terraced house, lots of dogs, no parking, no side access, or no sense of humour, please press hold!

Also, have a look at Solopress in Southend.
I've just had a quick look and they are cheaper than Saxoprint and they provide an artwork service that may be useful.
I've used them for printing and they are good.
Never used them for artwork as I do my own.
Having said that Saxoprint look good as well so I might give them a go myself.

Cool thanks guys. So I used to have the 130gsm version and it used to get scrunched up in the letterbox so I wasn't too sure about them that's why I was curious to know which one to go for
The current ones I have which 170 are a lot more durable so when they go through they won't just break up but maybe I'm  overthinking it

I'll check the other company out as well

CC you do really crack me up !

I would have thought you need to make sure you have gold leaf lettering on your flyers - otherwise these affluent areas defo won't let you in the street never mind on their property  ;D

still good luck to you
