Parchem Galaxy reviews ?
« on: March 07, 2019, 07:41:17 pm »
Hi I currently use a Airfex mini with all the add ons.
We have been taking on a lot of end of tenancy cleans which are generally 1 or 2 beds flats and most involve lugging the machine up loads of stairs which is proving to be a pain as you need two people for a small job.
Have been looking at the Galaxy which seems to be lighter and and more practical , any suggestions appreciated.

You may save a few kilos lifting it but you’ll lose out on performance

This is a situation why i was suggesting to Matt@cleansmart that a  boosted mini would be a good option  ...
in that case you would  carry a single 6.6 mini with no heater up to the apartment  ...  next trip you would carry the booster pod in one arm and the magma in the other ...
A fully loaded mini with heater is quite heavy ( i had the same alltec version )  i took out the heater for this reason ,  but even with the heater you should be able to drag it up the stairs slowly by yourself , but not everyone had the same strength or youth .

In some way the ashbys sensi might be worth  look as it caan have one vac +ashbys booster
some might opt for a single vac machine on its own for apt jobs but i know the performance is never great no matter what motor it has.

John I have an Alltec express and was wondering if 2 x 5.7 hd vacs would fit? Also I was thinking of getting rid of the hx inside how easy would that be?

Shaun, obviously i'm not John but i thought i would answer as I have had machine with two HD Electro motors in a machine on one cord with a 400 psi pump. I converted it back to one HD and one LP as the plug used to get very hot due to the two motors drawing 1650w each which is 3300w plus the pump which is something like 16 amps  on a 13 amp plug. The plug even started to melt! I know that John seems to do it with no issues but that's just my experience.
You could just take the heat exchanger out and wire the HD motor in to the supply for that. If that is the case it should work fine.
Performance wise, as the machine runs in series you will probibly not notice a massive difference in the power at the wand. The HD/LP setup will give roughly 234 H2O lift and 117cfm the HD/HD setup will give roughly 252 H2O lift and 119 cfm.
If you do replace the motor, size wise it is exactly the same.

Robin ,  u have an enforcer ? what do you use for awkward upstairs jobs ?

Shaun , i was happy to leave my express as it came to start with  ...    i was actually using the internal 2kw heater to feed an external 3kw heater which worked great !   ...  but then one of the machines heater cores failed ... just bad luck id say , so i took out the unit to fix it and i never really sorted it .  But i found the machine much more stair frendly without the heater so inside so i just left it ..

I did fit a second hd motor to the express and later a 6.6 (+ the 5.7 )
Actually i then did something else which seems extreme  ...  i was used to the enforcer being water proof  so the express was like a swiss cheese for water and it was bugging me , actually one day there was a downpour ... and between pulling the express from the van and wheeling it to the porch ,   was enough to wet something and it tripped straight way , last straw ...   i filled the upper switch section with expanding foam aaand relocted the switches to a sheltered place behind the machine . now it can stay outside when needed .
But yeah , try a second Hd vac if you like , if i doesnt work out for u you will have a spare anyway , but i have no issues , just change the plug every so often so u have fresh contacts in the fuse area , ... or do as Robin suggests if you can stand having a two cord machine   , also if you have a 130psi pump i would fit the 250 aquatec also .

John, I have an Enforcer which is pretty much permanently van mounted, and will run out to 150ft with that, also an Airflex pro as a back up. If I can't get to it with either of them I may encap it or just pass it on to another carpet cleaner who is keen to struggle with loads of gear. I try to accommodate as many customers as possible until it becomes unprofitable to do so.

There is no way I would take an Enforcer up stairs, I'm sure mine must weigh about 75 kgs empty! I'm not a weakling by any means, but goodness knows how others take one up stairs regularly, and can still walk!

not into the van mount thing myself  :)   still the Enforcer is very adept at hopping up and down concrete steps and paving on its way to the house .
Russ Chadd has just got a new Enforcer in the same 6.6 parallel spec as u and rates it also .    Im running 6.6 series in mine + various boosters at times .
Still a mini size machine is a joy at times in certain situations .

in November i purchased the Evolution from Alltec , i have'nt used it until this week, my truck broke so i needed it to carry on with the jobs booked in.. to be honest, having been truckmounted for 12 years, i was not looking forward to it, anyhow once set up, and running 100ft of hose, i was really impressed with the power and suction an also the nifty heaters that keep the temperature constant, it has done a really good job and with the aid of an air blower, also dryed the carpets really quickly....dont get me wrong, it aint no truckmount but it the best purchase i have made recently..it also has earned me £1000 this week over 2 days and will do the same next week until i can hopefully get my truck fixed..thats about 2/3rd s of the purchase price in 4 days of working.....bargain... also cleaned my van seats using it with my sapphire..cracking piece of kit

Do you find that the evolution leaves carpets upholstery just as dry as your tm ?
