I've a 350ltr pure freedom RO system in my van. Its pretty old now, eleven years. I'd like to carry more water to increase my daily amount of work. Id like to buy a brand new 500ltr system but dont want that expense.  Have thought about buying a new tank and frame and bolting all my parts on to it. Any thoughts on where I can buy the appropriate upright tank and frame for a good price or an any other way you guys have solved the 'i need more water' problem?

Why not just get some barrels fill them up and  then when your tanks empty fill it from the barrels , that’s the cheapest option

Buy a cheap water tank on ebay,  (camping ones are always cheap), (Flat tank) and a 12 volt pump to transfer water across to main tank

you could buy a new crash tested 500L tank and frame from pure freedom for around £500,or if you look on ebay you could probably get a second hand one for around £200,then get your local garage to fit it.....

Just use 25 Litre barrels and buy 1 compatible screw on tap.  I have a 350 tank and on the few occasions I need more I bring barrels.   When I think it's time to top up I lay the barrel out over the 350 tank lid hole and open the tap.  It's then emptying whist i'm working. 

This works for me.  Once or twice a month I use over 350 litres in a day therefore not really justifiable buying a bigger tank for it.  Depends on your usage but the simplest solution is often the best one.

I know it's not ideal lifting 25l, especially over a certain height, but he did ask how to get them in the tank and I didn't suggest them in the first place  .
What about topping up when out working? Your system is in the van and no extra weight concerns.

The most cost-effective thing is to get a proper, bigger system professionally installed.

After 11 years, you need to move on and move up. My honest advice is not to mess about with barrels or cobbled together stuff. Spend your precious working time actually working, not faffing.

Just buy a bigger tank. You'll soon get fed up faffing about with 25 L barrels. The extra work you can do in a day will pay for it in no time. Or do a Daz and put your customers prices up to pay for it

You can get a 500l tank for about £100 second hand.

Turn your flow rate down,I can easily get a good days work done with 350 litres,use a univalve or the likes.

Actually I turned my flow rate up, am getting round far more quickly (due to less time rinsing) and am using less water! Win, win! 

On a good days work (6 to 7 hours) I'm using between 250 & 300L.

No controller, 7lpm pump

Flood em, nothing worse than pratting around with a dribble to save a couple of quid
