You can't switch a solar panel off. It makes electricity by absorbing sunlight. There is therefore always electricity in the thing.

ok thanks  so you just clean them  with no danger off shock   sorry I have never touched one and been asked to clean them

just be careful.....i cleaned some panels a few years ago and i kept getting little electric shocks down my right arm as i was poling them,it was a rainy day and i had showa 377 gloves on.......

im still here to tell the tale but it unnerved me a bit.....ive cleaned a fair few other panels over the years and not experienced this before....

as said - can't turn them off - never been shocked - check to make sure the panels are intact before starting

unfortunately there has been loads of threads on here mostly scare mongering by certain parties, I did lots of research and talked to my local solar panel company and happy to clean the way we do

I don't fancy going over all that again so if in doubt don't do them

We’ve cleaned 100,000 since Christmas. Nobody electrocuted.
I’d be considering overhead cables if they are on a roof. Probably far more of a risk than the modules themselves.
