I currently live in a terrace house with no rear access so when it comes to filling my van I have to come through the house, I currently use 300 litres a day one man band, I have the opportunity to rent a stable from a friend 7 miles away with water and electricity which is included in the price £50 a month and clean his outside windows, I pass the area twice a week, would you be tempted to do this, I only have a 350 tank and did think of going for a 700 which means I only need to fill 2-3 times a week so wouldn’t have to make many unnecessary trips to fill up all the time, also I will be saving on my water bill

Could you not call a plumber in and get a copper pipe plumbed through the house neatly and put a tap on front of house.  Probably a few month rent would cover that cost.

I have had all my down stairs decorated plastered new flooring so wouldn’t want to ruin that and I think the only way that would would work would be to go under the flooring  so not very keen on that idea

I have a transit custom so think the payload is enough for 700 litres

Whats £50 a month ? - esp with the water and leccie thrown in - surely 7 miles is what 10 minute drive ? hardly a big issue for filling up each day

I personally would get a plumber out to see what my options are first. Spend maybe £150 with the plumber sorting you a tap out and pipe work at home instead of 600 a year for the rest of your life ( assuming the landlord never puts the price up)
At least you could go home , top up your water at dinner time if needed, take a dump and have some dinner.

Agree totally.  Its not about the money it's about convenience.

As previous two comments.  Friends and business are not a good mix and should be avoided when youre livelyhood is at stake. Its  a decision only you can make but consider the longevity of the arrangement also.
You haven't said how you purify water or whether you are on a meter. I'm presuming you are maybe di only ? that being the case I'd strive to find a way of getting a water supply permanently plumbed in at your house first - its got to be worth the peace of mind and convenience.

I’m on a water meter, and definitely not di only, 400 my tap tds, I’m in two minds what to do, it’s always handy to have water where you live so would miss that I only have 2 300 water butts at mo in my garden, with this stable I could have 2 ibc tanks full at the ready all the time which sounds good to me also I will have storage for bits and pieces and there is cctv at the property

I see. that being the case it maybe a good move. £50 per month inc water and electric, all declarable as business expense, whats not to like ? could take the headache out of building up your round and water production in the short term until you're ready to move to a more suitable house . I'd do it but would have a contingency set in place  ( like you have at home now ) in case it all goes tits up.

That will depend on what model of Transit Custom you have as the payloads vary, you will probably need the 310 to carry 700 litres.
