Cleanerplanner - SOLD?!?
« on: January 31, 2019, 02:02:32 pm »
Hi Soupy,

It is an exciting time for CleanerPlanner. We are in the process of transitioning ownership of your favourite cleaning software to ensure its continued success long into the future.

Having worked for cutting edge companies in Silicon Valley, the new owners bring deep technical experience and a strong customer focus to the team.

What does this mean for you?
•   We are bringing fresh energy to the service and you will start seeing at first small and then big improvements in the coming months. In the near future, we will reach out to you to learn about how we can improve the service.

•   With the change in ownership, we can pass on some savings to you! From February 1st, you will no longer pay VAT on your CleanerPlanner subscription.

o   If you are VAT registered and currently reclaim this VAT from HMRC or your tax authority, you will no longer need to do this as you will not be paying VAT to us.

o   If you are outside the EU and not paying VAT, your payment will not change.

•   We respect your privacy and will continue to ensure that your information is governed by the same strict GDPR compliant privacy policies that are already in place.

We are committed to building the best service in the world to help you grow and manage your cleaning business.

Thank you for being a valued customer and have a great day!

Sincerely,
The CleanerPlanner Team

Hmm. Can’t say I’ve been overly impressed with CP over the last couple of years, lots of promise, but failure to deliver.

Let’s see if that changes!

That address is just a virtual mailing  address, although not having to pay vat now does that mean they are not based in the UK?

I'd make sure it's all backed-up and make hard copies, just in case!

I believe so - we were able to supply all our data to squeegee when we trialled it

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

I don't use it, so I don't.
Have a look and see if there are any 'save' options.
If you are not sure, then print out all the individual customer files and then print out your schedule.
At least you've got something if it goes tits!
Even if they transfer to a different server, you could have some down time.

PS. You could always contact Cleaner Planner, voice your concerns and see if they will supply all your data on a spreadsheet?

You can back it up to dropbox.

Settings > account > backup to dropbox

Or download a zip file

Settings > account > download

I thought you were CP's biggest advocate?

Why would that matter? I used to be the squeegee mop and buckets biggest advocate. You've always got to make sure you are not missing out.

It would matter because Squeegee sounds pretty basic at the moment and hardly worth considering for a larger outfit. Also, the effort involved in swapping and relearning a new system would put me off moving unless the one I'm using didn't meet my needs. I guess my question was a roundabout way of asking if CP no longer meets his needs.

I've just backed mine up to squeegee. Costs nothing for a free account so may as well have a second option.

Thanks soupy I'll back it up to drop box as well

Scary when you think how much data is at stake in a worse case scenario.

This has always been my concern on these cloud based systems that are completely out of your hands if it went down or bust.

Your customer's personal details are your responsibility and who knows who has access to them or ends up getting sold to.
