Podcast Recommendations Update
« on: January 30, 2019, 07:14:04 pm »
Well it's always hard to keep us occupied while working.   Let's share some podcast ideas

Madhouse Live is my tip.   It will have you laughing your head off and easy to listen to.  Each episode runs for 2 to 3 hours.   It's an american telephone prank radio podcast. Not for anyone easily offended though.  Be warned if you offer a 24hr service on your website he will be calling you at 2am.  ;D

I'm a huge fan of podcasts.  Looking at my subs:

Cognitive Dissonance - Brilliantly rude take on US news. Takes two or three episodes to tune in to their humour (but see note below).
The Atheist Experience - Podcast of a live Texas call-in show where theists phone in and try to convert atheists. Often unintentionally hilarious, always worth hearing.
Richard Herring's Leicester Square podcast - conversation between Richard Herring and invited comedians. Huge back catalogue available, very enjoyable and relaxed
Remainiacs - technical analysis of the Brexit nightmare that somehow ends up making you laugh a great deal.
BBC:
     The Archers Omnibus
     More or less
     Friday night comedy
     The infinite monkey cage

Love them all. I also subscribe to several that aren't mainstream - look through the catalogues of podcasts and some will match your hobbies and interests. I suggest that unless they are clearly terrible you give them three episodes. Then if they are not gelling, give up, but sometimes it takes a while to get in step.

Flintoff, Savage and the ping pong guy...its like listening to three blokes down the pub, talking about sport and related topics (won multiple awards)

My dad wrote a porno...one of the presenters dad wrote a porno but it has to be one of the worse pieces of literature ever written! So the three of them read one chapter per episode, whilst ripping it to shreds!
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

The History of Rome - does what it says on the tin. If you are interested in that sort of thing, bingo. Interesting, amusing, thorough and fascinating.  And nearly 200 episodes long, so if you're into the whole brevity thing, it ain't for you.
The Butterfly Effect - Jon Ronsons' podcast on the death of a porn star and the murky world of adult entertainment. Always an entertaining author he translates well to podcasts.
Adam Buxton - remember Adam and Joe on c4 in the late 90's? Yeah, it's him whilst Joe is off being a very successful director in that there Hollywood.

I'll be gutted when I've finished them
The good thing about science is that it's true whether you believe it or not.
