Cracking filters in cold
« on: January 30, 2019, 02:21:23 pm »
Hi guys

What temperature do you think will crack filters when they are inside the van overnight? I’ve left for a few days and forgot to leave the heater in the back of the van. -4 forecast overnight  ???

If you have an RO the membrane will be damaged by any freezing.

-4° you may get lucky and they haven’t cracked. Mine have cracked before but that was the winter of 2009 when -10° was the norm.

I have my R.O in the house.

Never understood the point of having it in the van

Numerous reasons really but primarily because it’s bolted to my tank and system.
