I have a 25 and it will easily do 3rd floor and most Velux windows on modern houses,I have a 35ft extreme and it only comes out 3-4 times over 2 months on domestics so it will last years I’ve had it a few years it’s like new still.
I wouldn’t strip an extreme pole down if you can afford it use the right pole for the job they last way way longer that way,a 22 will most houses day to day weighs as much as a snooker cue.

I ordered the 25 but plan on using it as a 20 without a section for everyday use.

Some days I use my slx 18 all day on other days I may only use it on half of the work.. need something longer and at the moment the only other pole I have is a clx 27 which is horrible on an angle.

I think the 25 should cover me for everything except maybe half a dozen with  veluxes

I use the extreme as a "20" and because it does not have the bigger section of the 22 or 25 it feels much lighter. In fact it is only a few grams heavier than an an extreme 18 but the extra 2ft of reach makes all the difference as long as you have a longer pole for back up.

It’s all I use you can’t put a price on making your working day easier,if you have hot water electric reels and these poles you’ll know you are doing everything you can to make the job not only easier but limiting you’re risk of injury all 3 combined.

Reeling my hose in is the only exercise I get, better not go electric or I'll vegetate 😁😁

I fancied and extreme 18 but at 500-600 quid each I can't really justify buying 2 poles.

Having a 25 used at 20ft makes a lot sense especially when that will do 90% of my round.

just leave it as a  25 footer adam.....honestly these poles are sooo light....you dont need to remove sections!plus its better NOT to extend every section fully all the time anyway....much better to vary the clamping on the sections for a few reasons.....

1.it makes the pole super rigid...
2.it distributes the wear on the sections more evenly
3.less likely to snap a section if you not fully extending all the time
4.sometimes its better to stand further back from a window to cut down on neck strain(which you cant do with a shorter pole)
5.itll save you time having to go back to the van to add a section for those higher windows/velux,etc....

I thought my slx was light but absolutely love the weight of my phantom hi-mod what a difference and much the same weight as the extreme and treat it exactly the same as my slx

How long have u been using it pal and how’s the west going on the clamps?
Started to see a few negative posts on Facebook about these after all the game changing hype!

I ordered mine on black Friday so been using it since then every day and so far absolutely no problems at all with clamps or sections getting stuck

Well I got a phone call at around 11:30am from the delivery driver telling me no one was answering the door (r lass was under specific instructions to listen out for my pole)

Anyway as luck would have it (well I planned it) I was only working local so shot home in about 2 mins and  retrieved said pole.

Anyway it's a fantastic pole, it weighs about the same as my 18 slx and on lower level stuff there's not much in it, but extend the thing full is where you notice the difference.

It does feel more fragile and I'm not sure I will use it as my day to day pole as like I said the 18 slx is very close on single storey work but certainly it will make life easier for anything higher or that involves angles.

Yeh they do feel fragile.

Think I'll use my slx 18 for most stuff within reach and treat mine with love and hopefully it will last a few years of not hammered everyday.

I think if you struggle to use an SLX-22 then there's something seriously wrong with you and you should be looking for a pen pushing job. There's no need to splash out £100's on an extreme.

When you're an old fart like me an extreme 20 feels much lighter than an SLX22 (I've used one of these) and I can work longer without tiring or knackering myself!

I think as an everyday pole at 18ft the slx will work out better value. It will probably last twice as long as the equivalent extreme and doing simple single story work with no angles, stretching or Conny's the extra stiffness and weight is negligible.

Especially when you consider an extreme is double the cost and lasts half the time then it actually costs 4x the price if used as a day to day pole.

However the higher you go and the more acute the angle the more the extreme pays you back.

I would say 80% of my round is reachable with 18ft. So hopefully the extreme will last me at least 2-3 years. I wouldn't want to be replacing sections every 6 months like I've heard some do.

But time will tell, I may never buy another or I may love them and never buy another slx

If im doing straight up and down work then i just use an slx, any jobs with awkward windows or anything higher  then i use an extreme.

Dodgy elbow me.
20 years of clicking a computer mouse button has completely ruined my elbow.
I tried all sorts of stuff and nothing really made much difference.
I got the Xtreme 22 pole and brushes and I don't even think about it any more.
Got 2 extensions too.
I've had to live with Xtreme poles and yes I have broken a few sections, but my V3 has been good.
Probably had it a couple of years.
