If the immersion allows you to work one day that otherwise you would have been frozen up then it's paid for itself.

Having a frost free van and warm hoses/water opens up a larger window of opportunity to work in harsher winter weather. It can't fail to pay for itself many times over!

This was last February a bit morning snow after a heavy overnight frost. Immersion was used to heat water and keep back of pickup frost free we were out as usual earning and not getting behind with work

Out of interest and excluding Nathan, who has super cheap electric, how long do you have your immersion on for?
The cost over a month seems to average about £80.
Not sure about recording for tax either, at the moment recording the nights its on and then will times it by the cost.

Just guessing, but that seems on the high side
I wouldn't pay £80 for supple hoses and frost protection
Maybe I'm stingy

LOL - no you just happy to pay 4.5 grand and 25 quid a week on diesel for supple hoses

When you live oop north if we sacked it off for a sprinkling of snow you would lose loads of days between November and April

I’m happy to pay for a diesel heater smudger and it works out at 5-4K you need to have the mains hook up with a diesel heater I had mine fitted for my other diesel heater under a year ago,it’s needed for them

I would not expect to be hardly any quicker with a hot system on my 4 weekly maintenance cleans.
Isn't the point of window cleaning to earn as much as possible in the shortest time
I think it would take me a long time to get £4500 back through cleaning faster with hot
My son who is 25 years younger than me already thinks I clean lightning fast😂

Darren regardless of what anyone says m8 cleaning with hot is quicker I honestly wouldn’t have bothered getting another if it wasn’t,yes of course you can clean with cold and it does a good job but you have to take more time and some marks on plastic are not removed properly with cold.is it more comfortable to use yes it is does it clean better and make jobs quicker definitely imo. I’ve cleaned jobs this week that have been covered in spiders droppings on sills and frames,they look like new I’ve been using cold for the best part of 3 months and some stubborn stains and marks are just not cleanable with cold m8,you’ll get away with it but I wouldn’t really want to leave some frames and windows in that state just my opinion Darren been using hot for 13 years now.

I haven’t said hot doesn’t clean quicker but it’s marginal on regular work and certainly not worth the 5k when alternatives do the same for a fraction of the price

For a comparison I spent 2k on a special hot box for pressure washing better spec than a doff (see prices) this has allowed me to do specialist brick cleaning and graffiti work and brought in 40k alone - now that’s a good investment

I think people need to look at the amount of money the heaters are and what  you are  gonna get for your money,you will get the option to clean PVC cladding or timber to a much quicker and higher standard,you will be able to work in sub zero temps if you wish everything will remain frost free in your van regardless how cold it is outside. Hoses far more manageable day to day and that’s a big plus,above all you are able to trust the overall clean more if you clean quickly a lot of times with cold from the ground they look the same as with hot,in reality and I’ve prooved this when you do insides the results are very different.

Disagree - TFR or other chemicals and pure water do an outstanding job

My vans are inside overnight so frost is not an issue

spend 25 quid  and 2 hrs fitting an immersion for the same result

Complete nonsense tfr chemicals with cold do not  clean to the same standard as hot again I’ve cleaned this way with cold and hot,use tfr with hot and then look at the results.

i was joking!i probably would work in a bit of light snow....

hot is for all year round not just for a few days in winter.........

I’m talking about the trim on PVC the small gap lines on roofs and windows,I’ve taken over jobs where bloke was cold,some of the trim had plant-grass growing out of it where it built up over time. Soon as I hit it with hot it came out like soil been in years.
