Ok so my taps seem to last around 1 month before the handle falls off or the push fit barb  snaps in the hose and gets jammed in the tap so I can’t pull it out or something breaks inside the tap so I can’t turn the water off ... so I’m forever changing taps at a tenner a time!!
My gooseneck is jammed after about a month of buying the pole but couldn’t send it back because I only have 1 pole ... my question is - can I fit a univalve if I can’t disconnect my gooseneck ?

Yeah, provided you can thread the pole hose through the goose neck from the base.

If you can thread your pole hose through to the brush, then yes u can. Just connect it all up and feed it through and sort it out at the brush end.
So it connects as such
Pole hose to the bottom of the univalve.
Then pole hose from the top of the univalve, to the brush, whilst  leaving the univalve inside the pole. So feed this tube through to the brush (8 - 10inches or so, pending ur gooseneck) trim and connect to your brush as usual. However slide an o ring down to clamp the pole hose where it comes out your pole to the brush so it aids when you tug on the hose.

Nathan - what’s that’s pole hose you use? Do I need to change my Gardiners reinforced stuff?

The red hose is the rhino hose and you can get one which is more stiff so there's no elasticity in the hose, which is more suitable for the univalve.
If there's not a lot of stretch in the reinforced hose, then it should be good.

spray your gooseneck with ptfe spray where its jammed and get someone else to twist and pull the pole/gooseneck in the opposite direction to you.....itll come apart eventually.....

uni valves are the best......ive been telling you to get one for ages!

I know I know... but I had bought a job lot of bloody taps so thought I’d work through them first but if it’s costing me over £100 a year on taps, I may as well buy a univalve instead.

Or clamp the pole and whilst the brush is connected, use a rubber mallet and gently tap it out

PU hose is best for the uni valve whether its gardiners,exceed blue etc....it doesnt matter....i use exceed blue and some orange PU stuff(I  think its from gardiners)

Just ordered the univalve and exceed blue hose from his website. So hopefully arrive within the next week

Why don’t you order a new section 1 clamp and gooseneck, then cut the old one off the pole under the old clamp , then refit new one ?

 Not had a problem with goosenecks getting stuck recently.

Thread hose down from top of gooseneck out of bottom of pole connect univalve, connect more hose to other end of univalve then pull it up and cut off excess hose and connec to brush.

You'll waste a few feet of hose but much easier than trying to poke the entire thing through from the bottom it'll drive you mad.

First impressions are pretty good! It’s strange not holding a tap after all these years! Feels a bit strange reaching to the bottom of my pole to turn the water off as sometimes Iv got to raise the pole up the window again so I can reach the hose. Something il get used to I think , but yeah pretty good piece of kit
